Gift for teacher friend

I have a lovely friend who I met through our postnatal classes and we spend a lot of time together with our 9 month old babies.

She's going back to work next week into a new primary teaching roll (her previous job was temporary) and I'd like to get her something as a little present to say good luck. She's the first of the group to be going back to work and I know she's anxious about starting a new job, not to mention leaving her DS.

What would be a nice gift, I was thinking something useful she can use at work. Any ideas?

Nice foot cream, as she'll be spending hours on her feet every day.
Funky post-it notes - even my 6th formers get excited to find a shaped Post-it on their essays.
I've found my thermal mug thing invaluable tbh. I think one of those filled with hot choc sachets etc would be a lovely gift.

Yeah-I'd most appreciate a bottle of something sparkly for the first Friday night or the offer of a couple of hours babysitting.
Gel pens (decent quality ones) are nice for marking though.

As someone who has been there, the thing she needs most is sleep - not practical for you to collect her DC early am, but maybe you could give her a couple of IOUs (or maybe one each from each of the NCT group?) for say 3 hours childcare on a Sat am, or a Sat evening babysitting so she can go out with her DH?
Time is going to be the bone-cruncher for her...

A mug is something that lots of the dc will get her for Christmas - she'll have loads!
I like the idea of a little potable photo frame or book for her work bag.
Most (Primary) teachers I know do like nice stationery - pens and notebooks and coloured post-its. Or (if you decide to get something for work) then the little stampers are great too.

I second getting something for her rather than her job.

You could get her a teacher stamp/s which she can use for marking, think you can even get personalised ones.

Primark have the best cups with lids. The drink keeps warm & it doesn't taste plasticky.
Or a lovely notebook with a nice pen. That's what I'd love.

All the staff at my school have those tall mugs with a lid on (must have a lid on!) How about a nice one of those?

Or a little photo wallet for pictures of her DS, which she can put in her bag?

You sound very thoughtful Thanks

What about a mug, a photo frame for her desk, a set of nice pens for marking, a plant to brighten up her classroom or a few nice snacks for her to enjoy at break time -when she'll hopefully get to drink a cuppa whilst it is still warm!)
