I've had a great half term but since Tuesday I have felt guilty about not doing the work I need to do before Monday. Now I am going to have to get up early tomorrow and Sunday to get it done.

Will anyone else be working so I don't feel so lonely?

Yip. Including a lesson profile ... we're meant tp include things like 'johnny stays with dad on a Thursday so may be upset / anxious in class' type detail.

I'm putting my foot down firmly this year and producing nothing except my usual stuff. [childish tongue out at management emoticon]

Yes good luck everyone. I will probably get side tracked. I told the DC they need to start packing tomorrow for going back to school and that usually leads to a last minute dash to the shops for something obscure they have waited until the last minute to tell me they need.

My plan is get up and work until 1pm then take a break and spend some time with the kids then get stuck back in again.

Lets see what really happens.

Yeah we have to somehow include all of that stuff on the seating plans, along with pupil premium info and personalised plans for each pp child. Sheer madness.

Maybe I'll just disappear.

I've found a batch of extended writing that I'd totally forgotten about :-(. Had some time in the classroom transforming displays and my planning is pretty much done.

I'm being observed next week too!

I always used to think that teachers would just rock up and well teach - until I learned about lesson plans etc ah well we live and learn.

Right well so far I have achieved nothing. Helped the kids pack, attempted to get a black paint stain out of the dining room carpet (dont ask - am seething right now), cooked lunch, cleaned up, chased washing down the road after washing line snapped in high winds.

I am having a cuppa and cake then getting stuck in. Feeling very deflated right now.

Haw are the rest of you getting on?

Feeling smug Grin. I also have a student in with me and as I won't be there for her first day due to a training event, I had to get my arse in gear for once and got all the planning, seating plans etc up to date at the beginning of the week. Have also rewritten my subject policies.

Oops... just peeked round the spare room door and seen the marking pile Sad.

Me too.

Have managed to mark the sum total of 10 essays today.

Why am I on here?

I've had a bloody horrible week, family stress, yuk.

Was really looking forward to half term, getting loads of work done, catching up on sleep and household stuff.

Instead I've moped and done feck all.

I've done loads! Just none of it school based.

Have decorated, taken the children out lots, have cleaned and thrown rubbish.

Still need to dye my ever-greying hair. And to finish the decorating in my DDs room.... and to make a birthday cake with my friend for her son's birthday on Tues.

I may mark the English books (and check that the children's targets are up to date) that I brought home - but then again we have training day on Monday (yay!) and I may take it with me to get done when we have some classroom time - or after the training day as at least I'll be in school-mode then.

Slightly at a tangent but a response to the lesson observation comments of PPs - you are not required by anyone to produce paperwork, not even a written lesson plan. THe requirement is that lessons are planned. THey can see that from the lesson/resources. Not even OFSTED can require you to hand over a plan. DON'T DO THEM!

Utterly fed up. Laptop downloaded some kind of update and is now not playing ball. Could not open any word documents at all. I have beed a SAHM for yonks and not very computer savvy these days. I am doing a basic IT course alongside the rest of my course so I can do powerpoints and assignments and tables etc but I am still at the very beginning.

So I went back to basics and tried to complete the rest of my assignment (only page 1 and intro on computer) by hand. Reckon I have done 80% of it but now need to add a few pictures and a bit more info. Do a conclusion. Type it up and lay it out ok as a word doucment and also need to suss out how the hell to do a flow chart on the computer. There is one aspect I am struggling with and need clarification on so have emailed my tutor but dont expect a response before Monday.

A bit fed up because although I have made a good dent the fact its all handwritten in rough still means a fair bit of work ahead of me.

Also have another shorter assignment to do - that one is due in first.

Am hoping DH will be home tomorrow to sort out the computer for me and then I will just have to stay up all night until it is done.

I am in such a bad mood - the black paint on the carpet and the laptop being an arse has just added to my foul mood. Sat with the kids now though watching X factor and eating chocolate.

I do this EVERY holiday! Work ridiculous hours Mon to Fri to keep on top of everything and promise myself very half term I will do enough work to last me 6 weeks ish.

Instead have worked most of today, will have to work tomorrow and will still be behind, have my scheduled lesson obs this term too. How did it happen...again?!

cardibach I know they aren't compulsory, however my HT & SLT would not give a 'good' without...

I have got quite a lot done today but still haven't planned my lesson observation (although lots is in my head). Still more to do tomorrow. I just know that once I get back to school it will be full speed ahead again until Christmas. I wish I could have proper week off just having family time and chilling out rather than feeling knackered for most of it and trying to catch up Sad

Luckily I'm one of three in my year group and we share planning. We each do maths, literacy or 'the rest' in rotation :-)

Monday's are fab - we each present the others with our plans and resources.

I've dyed my hair, analysed the dept monitoring and planned actions, made coffee ice cream and hazelnut crisps, wrote up monitoring and actions, wrote feedback to the dept, made a one hour round trip to pick up the trainers I had ordered, messed around with all the bits of paper that is my filing system, made hot dogs, been to local firework show and whizzed through X Factor recording.

Now I only have ONE DAY left to do THREE DAYS work! Bum.

It's Yr 3/4 linear measurement. I sat and talked it through with a friend a couple of days ago (the fun I have!!) and think I know what I'm doing. I've got a 2c - 4c range with some really lively children so need to keep it really structured. Any ideas for OMS??
