And no mention of the Daily Mail.

Last night was abit more interesting but yet more young boobs in our faces. She’s so much like Whitney I wonder if Helen thought that?

Did you notice the up the bum sex reference yet again? It was alluded to in the first season a couple of times. I dunno why the writer had to bring it up again.

What I don’t understand is what airport did they land at that Cole could just pull in to? Where is Princeton?

I just caught up with this, though of course I'd heard about the big spoiler

I felt there was a lot of filler in this season but also a lot of good stuff. Could have been halved. The stand out moments were stand out.

so should we assume Alison wasn't quite dead when she hit the water - otherwise her lungs wouldn't be full?

also I think the police have given up on that too easily. Next season is bound to focus on that, especially as Athena had her cremated.

I was really moved by what Athena said about Alison reaching 35 as I myself didn't really expect to hit 40. Similarly, Helen's comment about Alison having time to have a second act has hit me on an emotional level.

I suppose Vik will die and Helen will get stuck with mad neighbour raising the child.

but the loss of Alison as a character, and how quick people were to agree suicide, that had me weeping.

I expected Noah to walk back in the door behind Helen and then all celebrate Thanks Giving together as though nothing ever happened. Where was the eldest son in this series?

My version would have made a much more interesting ending.

Alison isn't dead.

She's been captured by her evil dad and stepmother, who are keeping her locked up, ready to harvest the kidney from her.
He's super rich so could possibly be paying others - police, coroners, even her own mother to go along with it.

Or alternately, Alison took Helen's advice and decided to take control of her life.
She made a deal with her Father, that he could have her kidney in return for a shit load of money and a new identity.

She will keep an eye on Joaney from a distance.

I'm appalled that Alison has died, I hope in the next series Ben gets his due.

Poor Cole. It was the right thing for him to do rather than sit and give a speech.

I just wish the series had gone a different way. Its too dark, death murder cancer...

What struck me was Noah saying that Alison didn't make him happy? When cole asked at the cemetery? I would have thought she did - unless he was just being kind to cole?

I interpreted that as Noah admitting that having an affair didn't fix the unhappiness in his life. I.e. that no woman could have made him happy, rather than that Alison was the wrong woman for him.

JJ has been amazing all the way through- flashback to him and Alison showed how fresh faced he was at the start tho!

I hope Cole does NOT do that and finds happiness after many years of woe!

But that Ben is arrested for something else and confesses. Or is killed Grin

Helen should move back to NY. Neighbour woman can raise the baby with Vic’s cash and deal with his parents.

I loved it. Just watched 9+10 together and totally wrung out. Such amazing writing.

I’m so sad for how Vic and Alison had such shitty lives. Vic had 20 years of fulfilling his parents wishes and basically working without children or relationships.

And Alison - just such a fucking waste and such a vessel for all the men to see what they wanted to see without seeing her.

Also how Noah and Helen still so affected by their terrible parents and how they were parented. So unhappy.

And Cole- he’s going to catch Ben. He’s going to make it his mission to get that cunt pissed and confess - and then he’s going to kill him. Leaving Luisa to raise Joanie.

I predict next season opens with Helen and woman next door raising Vic’s baby (with Vic dead) - not as a couple though Grin - Helen prefers cock to vulva I think.

Will Noah be shacked up with yet another woman?

Agreed Loopy, just wish Ben had gotten caught & then it would have been perfect as don't want Joanie growing up thinking her mum killed herself as imagine that really damages a child.

Yes, love Donna! I think it was running in the shoes was what made it comical!!

I had seen the spoilers (I like spoilers but never post them!) and didn’t want to watch the episodes with gratuitous helen/neighbour sex or Alison’s death, which was sure would be murder by Ben. So just watched the finale, which thought was great.

Cole Sad, Noah being decent, Witney being Witney (and rightly pissed off that Helen hadn’t told her Vic’s dying!).

Loved Cole’s “what the fuck!” exchange with Athena at the memorial and running off with the urn! Odd running style is what made it comedic IMO. Poor bloke’s been through the mill. Good thing Luisa is such an adult!

Pregnancy v obvious, clunky plotting, but am glad that Vic will have fulfilled his dying wish. Enjoyed Noah and Helen’s chat on the ground too.

I think all the leads are great.

I hope they didn’t write out Ruth Wilson over pay.

It was marvellous.Think Ben the actor is terrific-so much depth although I didn't like his strange eye brows. The sexy romantic dance he did with Alison was gorgeous.(Episode 9) I wish he didn't say the stuff about tying up his wife.Well put me off and how could Alison fancy him after that? Sounded like some sort of perverse /violent rape.Disappointed at the dual take-had enough of that in the first series.Last episode was too dramatic and Daft.I shall miss the Affair.I've absolutely loved it.Do ppl really use the F word as much as in the last episode? My prudish nature was outraged.I know I've a few complaints but honest I shall be glued to the set for the next series. ( round of applause)

Another one here who roared with laughter at Cole snatching the ashes and running!

I also thought they could have finished it here and it would have been a satisfying enough ending,

I loved it when he grabbed the ashes, I was definitely cheering him on! I thought the actor who played Ben was amazing. It scared me how different the parts he played in the alternate realities were so different. Very sinister!

Came on the thread just to say how much I laughed when Cole picked the ashes up like a rugby ball and did a runner with them. Was unintentionally hilarious.

Just watched the last 2 episodes & thought they were great - can't believe that Ben killed her & is going to get away completely free though.

They didn't leave any stone unturned with Scotty's hit & run but closed the book on Alison so easily. I guess it's easy to see as I thought she'd probably killed herself too but really don't want him getting away with it.

If it weren't for that, I think it made for a great final ever episode as it closed all other loose ends, with enough ambiguity for us to imagine what happens with each character next.

That statue? I’m not saying he never did it I’m saying what a crap police force to conclude it so quickly considering how obsessed they were with the driving incident!
