Style and beauty

I'm going to a wedding and have a dress, but I can't accessorize (sp?) to save my life.

This is the dress. The wedding is in May in South Wales, so if the weather is nice, it will be hot, but the weather could be awful.

I exist in a world where accessories happen to other people. I watch fashion shows and I just marvel at how people know what does with what.

I saw these shoes, but I haven't a clue if they are vile or not.
So jewellery? Silver? Beady?
Bag? cream or dark blue or something different?
Don't even get me started on belts or jackets (I don't own either)

I just want to look presentable for once. If anyone would be nice enough to give me some advice I would be eternally grateful. You don't even need to find things, just tell me what to look for and I'll find something suitable (hopefully)
Oh yes, I'm a size 10 and very short (5ft) if that makes any difference.
TIA

Plum's shoes are nice thoguh-I'd start frmo scratch and build around those.

Sorry, that dress is terrible.
Just an old raggy sundress with random collar-looks like something an extra would wear in Sound of Music.

I like the ones with the dark trim. The first ones you linked to are a little out of my price range I'm afraid, but very nice.

I think this style would look nice, obviously a potential weather risk though. Big bracelets and then if it were me I would wear a big pair of dangly gold earrings but I know not everyone loves big earrings as much as I do!

Totally agree. Dress lovely, shoes awful. Just add a fab clutch.

That's why I thought of the blue shoes drloves, but I obviously suck at shoe selection.

ooh nice link plumsky !
a trick if your short is to wear one main colour head to toe- it gives an illusion of height.

See this is why I need other people to tell me what to wear. I'm hopeless I like those pink shoes.

I'm not sure if I'll have bare legs yet. Not sure what colour tights I would wear either

Oh God I'm so rubbish at clothes.

lovely dress , but i think the shoes are a bit wrong for the dress, {they are very nice though}
The shoes will cut across your ankles and make your legs look shorter btw.

x-post plum, was about to link to those shoes

I would be careful not to over accessorise that dress TBH- it's lovely BTW.

Are you wearing bare legs with it?

The shoes are vile, sorry- they will kill the femininity of the dress IMO.

Have you thought about red shoes/bag etc? Or nude?

Perhaps a string of pearls?

Okay.

Shoes, I'd go for nude patent, something like this:

www.missselfridge.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=2 0555&storeId=12554&categoryId=63775&parentcategoryrn=63772&productId=1669434&langId=-1

bag, you want a clutch, poss made of straw/cork, as it will be summer.

Jewellery-wise, I'd steer clear of a necklace, as the collar if your detail there, and go for some chunky plastic beads around your wrist, in either cream or a bright orangey coral.
