Getting semi permanent lip colour tomorrow

Goldenoodle · 03/05/2021 16:21

I have name changed, as I am posting a photo of myself!

I am having semi-permanent lip colour done tomorrow. Can anyone with knowledge of the industry advise me what colour (and style!?) I should ask for?

I am not good with colours or tones. So am unsure of what to ask for. I have very pale lips (hence why I am having the treatment), and pink undertones on my skin. (Or so I have been told before)

I know a zombie
but op…. How are the lips now? Did they last? I’m tempted to have this treatment!
correct that takes 3 hours?

Yes the follow up will include a top up. It is only a short appointment to add more Pigment I believe. Then it should last a bit longer :)

oh, so the follow up appointments they talk about are for a top up which then lasts longer?

I have been looking at prices for eyeliner.

Your lips look great, it's such a clever concept.

@Ostara212
It was actually quite barrable. I told her how nervous I was so she kept applying the numbing solution throughout the treatment.

Yes it will fade lots and will require a top up in about 8 weeks, which I've booked in for

@lindyloo57 the last photo I took is without lipstick (Vaseline only). This was them immediately after they were done. They are actually all cracked and flakey now (normal part of the process)

OP it looks lovely

how does it feel and did it hurt?

I've been looking at semi permanent eyeliner online

they are mostly saying you need two appointments and using a different method than the last time I looked.

the thing I think with eyes, I can get away with no one realising it's been done but with lips, if you stay the night with a friend it's going to be like you are fully lipsticked in the morning!

Thank you all!
I will pop back in a month with an update on how they settle.
@WithLargeTableMouse Yes absolutely. They can focus on the border and blend it into the lip too.

Wow looks great, although you looked great already. Would this be suitable to add definition to your lip outline or even up asymmetrical lips too? The outline of my lips is just a bit of a blur these days.

I just booked this for myself! It is going to be so beautiful--and you are already stunning.

Here's an update!
It was absolutely fine!
She used plenty of numbing cream and she mixed the colour for me. It will heal as a subtle warm, pink colour.
It will fade 50% apparently and I asked for it to not be too opaque looking. So it should look like a natural lip colour once settled and not too 'done'.
(It should last 2-3 years to the person who asked)
😃

I didn't know this was a thing. I thought about the eyeliner but finding out it was like a tattoo put me off.

Is this the same procedure, will you have very sore lips?

Also, it seems like it would be really obvious you'd had this done, less obvious with eyeliner IYSWIM.

When does it wear off?

I had mine done recently and I took along a lipstick that really suits me and the practioner just made me a colour based on that shade. The rest of it I left up to her as she's very experienced and I trust her. I had eyebrows and eyeliner with her before and have those topped up regularly.

Ohh exciting, iv had mine done too! Same reason as you, lip line had no pigmentation at all. X

It's a Semi-permanent lip tattoo. Like eyebrow tattoos 😀
It will be very natural looking! I hope...

@dane8 that sounds like you went to a very good technician.
Even I had my brows done (years ago) she did them so dark. I felt like I had two slugs on my face for a year or so. So I'm a little nervous about the colour for my lips.

I think maybe a coral undertone than a pink red as I'm very pale. I really have no idea.
