Give me a new hair cut (picture included)

I'm a mum of two young boys in my early 30s. So I need something easy to maintain! I usually just rough dry it.

I've almost always had the same, long, thick blonde hair. But I feel I am too old for this now and want a more 'grown up' look.

I once cut it shoulder length but found it very high maintenance as it would just flick at the shoulders!

Any suggestions? Its very thick at the back and thin at the front.

I would go for a similar style to the slopey ones you posted but keeping a bit of the length especially at the back, just be aware though that if you have it as a long dramatic slope if its pushed back it could look funny at the back as the side bits will hang down your back and the middle will be shorter.

Always think stacey forseys hair is a nice length too

Also nice just a bit shorter than yours with some long layers and a centre parting

Wasnt what i was thinking of but love this

Could rough dry and salt spray and be easy maintenance.

I'm generally all for short hair and am not a fan of long hair per se - but yours is so lovely, please don't cut it into a bob or pixie! Those graduated bobs are aging, I think.

I agree with DameDoom - ShadowKitty's Kirsten Dunst cut would be great on you and would probably be quite a different look, while keeping your hair.

31 is very young and you can easily get at least another 10 years out of your fabulous mane before you need to think about changes in face shape necessitating a total revamp.
The Kirsten Dunst would look fab in the meantime - she must have extensions as I've never seen her with hair that thick before.
Having said that, the lobs you have shown would be a doddle to grow out if you weren't happy.
You'll look great whatever- even with your face scribbled out, I can tell you are a beauty.

I have a similar haircut to the one you want - not quite as long at the front though. It looks really nice when I've styled it, but on a day to day basis I just don't have the time for the level of maintenance it needs. My hair was long before I got it cut, and I had it done because I wanted more of a "style". But it was SO much easier when it was long!!! I could just dry it without the need to style it and I could put it in a top knot if I hadn't washed it.

I'm growing mine again now.

I have migraines almost every day so long hair actually hurts and I have short hair, brilliantly low maintenance. Can't work out how to blank out my face but similar to this

I had long hair (not as long as yours) and got bored. I wanted a Mariella Frostrup bob. My hairdresser tried to talk me out of it. I insisted and it was a bloody nightmare. I had to “do” it for it to look anything like MF bob and it drove me crazy not being able to tie it back.

Be careful what you wish for OP. I now have long hair again and no way would I have it bobbed again. Soooo much easier for a busy lifestyle now.

I had your hair! A little bit longer but almost the same down to colour. I now have a darker shade of HW hair. It's great but I do have to style it everyday. I used to be able to just brush and go but now I have to straighten or curl otherwise I look like a Triangle. It really does look fab though

Ugh your hair is fierce. Why are you too old for it? Looks perfect.

But that's not what you asked.

I have no advice sorry. I'm a mess haha.

I have a graduated bob like that but a bit shorter. I love it. Before I had hair like yours and was forever straightening it and didn’t know what to do with it. When it was short (shoulder length at the front) I had to blow dry it with a rounded brush every time or it would have looked weird. But now it’s grown a bit I think it looks good left as it is.

I had the long angled bob haircut and it was easier than long hair to maintain, I really missed my swishy mermaid hair though Grin

Also be careful about cutting the back just above your collar line because it flicks out, you will need to go longer or shorter

Does anyone have this haricut? Is it easy maintenance?

Thank you for all your ideas! I do appreciate them- I just am more undecided than ever!

I've been thinking about a long angled Bob. So it's still long around my face (i.e. not too dramatic a change)

Don't cut it, I've recently gad a choppy long layered bob and what a pain in the arse. It's growing in all directions and won't stay in one place. My hair is naturally wavy and I did say to the hairdresser that I wanted longer layers starting at my shoulders. Well the first layer is chin length & the last layer is shoulder length. All the curls that didn't exist before have now sprung up like a poodles! My sister says I look like a cross between Charlene and Madge off neighbours! Sad ConfusedBlush

Just looking at your face shape, I'd say something like this.

How about just framing your face a bit with long layers and a long fringe like pp said? You won't need to lose much length but might be enough of a change for you?

Long fringes are easy to maintain yourself too - should be something on You Tube showing how.

Leave it! Or a long fringe/heavy layering round the face like Brigitte Bardot
