Any recommendations?

I'm currently using a little kit from L'oreal that has a gel and a powder and a crappy little brush that's now very scabby but I do now fill in my brows every day so will to commit to buying the best product for the job rather than just grabbing something cheapy from Boots to try out (although I wouldn't rule out cheap if its good). Just doing a Space NK order and I've no idea what I'm looking for. I have fair skin and dark eyebrows that need defining and a little filling out, idiot proof is the main thing I'm looking for!

Any advise? Pencil? Mascara brushy type stuff? Laura Mercier do a little kit of gel and powder but then I think I'd need to buy a decent brush to go with it...

I tried the Rimmel pencil but couldn’t get a soft natural look , was too harsh for me
Anastasia pomade dried up and was unusable after a few weeks - some people have this issue some done
What has been phenomenal is the illamasqua eyebrow cake and the illamasqua brow brush . Hands down the best makeup purchase I have ever made . It’s not cheap but one set last forever - I’ve been using the same one since 2014 and there’s barely a dent on it .

I use HD brows creme or Anastasia Beverley hills pomade with a cheap eyebrow brush from amazon, both are really good and you only need a tiny bit just to fill out and define brows, although you can layer it up to get a heavier look if you want to. I’ve tried pencils, powders, gels and wunderbrow and not really got along with any of them.

I love Glossier Boybrow.

I have tried powders, pencils, waxy things - but this is the best. My brows are prone to scraggliness and this holds them in place all day too.

I use this Stila one. It is by far the best one I've found - I actually get compliments on my brows, and as someone who lived and plucked through the late 90s that's saying something! I can literally draw on and colour in my brows in all the sparse/bald spots and they end up looking pretty much completely natural.

The only problem is that these run out of 'ink' really quickly - they last maybe two months. But I will continue to buy because they work so much better than anything else I've ever used.

I like Benefits brow pencil - the wide lead one not the skinny one.

If you use a powder, invest in a decent brush rather than using the tiddly wee ones you get in kits. Benefit do a nice one, and Real Techniques have them in a few of their sets.

You can also use a cool toned matte eyeshadow instead of a specific brow powder - Nars Bali or Mac Brun or Omega are all really good. Bobbi Brown's eyebrow kits just contain two of their regular eyeshadows. If you already have some eyeshadows, have a look and see if you've already got something that'll match.

Brow pomades can give more of a defined "instagram" look, powders are softer and pencils are in-between.

Anastasia brow definer as above. I’m a novice but works for me.

Anastasia Beverly hills eye brow gel with a Anastasia Beverlyhills eye brow pencil. Use this every day. It's absloutley fantastic, and not too expensive.

I also use a clear gel underneath first once I've got my eyebrows in place, to set them ready for colouring.

Anastasia dip Brow pomade used sparingly with a really good brush. Lasts ages. Costs about 17 without brush included.

I use the collection 2000 eyebrow crayons and a brush

I have rubbish eyebrows and have tried pretty much everything, but settled on the following routine, which happens to be cheap: use Collection 2000 clear mascara on brows, leave to dry while doing the rest of my make up. Then use Rimmel eyebrow pencil to do the colour. It has a little brush on the lid that I use for blending of necessary. I found the combination of the slightly stiff eyebrows (due to the mascara) plus the hard texture of the Rimmel pencil gives a good result. I do less of this routine now, having got my brows microbladed in May, which I can recommend ... but still finish them off with the mascara/pencil combo described above.

I have rubbish eyebrows and use a pencil from Anastasia Beverley hills. It's really good and lasts ages. It's expensive( £24 i think)but considering I use it every day and it's lasted about 8 months before I needed another I don't mind. It's quick easy and not messy.
