Biggest beauty regret?

What's your biggest beauty regret -- service you had done or worst makeup product you tried?

Mine are lash extensions which left my natural lashes short and stubby. Had nice long thick natural lashes before I got the lash extensions and now they are nothing like what they once were. :'( Don't get me wrong, the lash extensions looked lovely for a couple weeks but then when they start to shed it's bad. I was a guest a wedding during the second week and a friend I hadn't seen in a while said one of my lashes was coming off while we were standing there having a chat -- embarrassing! :P

Hourglass foundation was horrible on me. I wore it and my skin looked dry and like I never exfoliate!

Chipmunk, how did you damage your eyelashes? Mine was from bloody lash extensions. Never again. I know some people love them, but I wouldn't put my lashes through that again even if it were free.

Did you brush your teeth too hard or not enough?

Being super smug about having olive skin and therefore never wearing sunblock. Now have ridiculous pigmentation on my forehead, cheeks and nose. Looks like I've got a grubby face cos it's so uneven
Oh the foolishness Sad

Not taking my cystic acne seriously as a teenager. I now have acne scars which, while not horrendous, are still all I see in the mirror some days...

I'm sure in a few years I will be regretting sunbathing and especially sunbeds I used in my youth bitterly. I don't look too crepey yet, but a friend of mine who has been religiously protecting herself from any sun is close to 50 and does not have a single wrinkle. Looks like it really makes a massvive difference.

Not using sunblock on my decolletage from a young age. Early 40s now and my chest area is much redder and wrinklier than my face and neck

Retin a is often pushed as a miracle worker. I used it once and it was horrible on my skin as well.

Deathray, you shaved off your entire brows? Oh my. You are braver than me!

I'm currently sporting a dodgy tan. I used a booth but the man gave me instructions which were different to what the booth was telling me. The result: doubly dark left side, hardly tanned right. Thank god it's only March...

Ha ha - like (was it) Ross from friends???

Mine is brows. Shaved them all away. Surprise surprise they are awful now.

Yes I'm very glad I'd wised up by the time I heard about Retin A. It would have probably taken my face off.

Retin A.

Hands down the worst thing I ever did to myself, S&B related anyway, and I was well informed about how to use it. It's only available on prescription for a reason!

Buying all that crap for my face because I'd hit my 50s and thought it was time to up my game. Pissing waste of money and I've had sensitive skin ever since.

I also had some terrible perms when I was younger. Looked either a bit like crystal tips or like one of those older women who used to favour the bubble perm.

One memorable time was coupled with a hair dye that looked burgundy, so I had a burgundy bubble perm. It wasn't pretty. It was a home perm and I remember my student friends hitting the deck and snorting with laughter when the rollers came out. 😱😱😱

Oh and wearing winged liquid liner,I could never get it right but I wore it for years!

Getting my tash waxed-it took the top layer of skin off and I was left with red a weeping skin until it scabbed over.

Too much fake tan combined with touché eclait worn as an under eye concealer Shock

70isalimit 😄😄 at your description of the shitty attitude of your brows!

For me, yo-yo diets....not a good effect on my now 55 yr old body. I was never that big just always losing 10lbs then gaining 10lbs. Also, not looking after my neck and hands better.

Permanent black hair dye from a supermarket packet when I was 20! It looked terrible and no other dye would cover it properly so I had to keep putting through semi's until it grew out enough to cut the black bits off, so took the best part of a year.

I also wish I had never sunbathed or did sunbeds as a teen. I always wore SPF starting at around 20. And good skin care. I avoid the sun like the plague now. I have American citizenship and thought about moving to Hawaii but the potential sun damage holds me back.

Sunbathing - when living in the tropics for a year and ending up with liver spots on my hands at the age of 34

That sounds lovely! Yes I totally know what you mean. I can never seem to keep that curl after applying my mascara. I've read some people say their eyelashes were fried after the LVL and they ended up losing some.

Elephant, not the LVL but just a normal eyelash perm, it has been 4 days since I've had it and have to say I'm really pleased with them. It saves precious time curling them every morning and just a quick flick of mascara and they look good. Mine look rather natural without mascara, like how eyelashes look after you've curled them before mascara iykwim.

Omg MumBod I had to go to my brother's wedding with a horrible sun burn. I made the stupid mistake of going in one of those standup sunbeds before. I still cringe thinking about this. Shuddering at the thought. I was beet red. rofl

Lol @ Fat match

Maud try a liquid bha and a good moisturizer. Some people can't handle microderm because of sensitive skin.

Grin MumBod I shouldn't laugh but the fat match comment is making me snort.
Elephant no my skins not that bad really but there are two teeny weeny holes on one side of my face and I've blamed the heavy handed beautician, as you do Hmm

Peroxide blonde hair. I had to have a day off work so I could go back to the salon to have it fixed.

A salon St Tropez tan that made my legs go green. Another one that wasn't applied properly and I had to go to a wedding looking like I'd been ronsealed - badly.

A horrendously short pixie crop that I inexplicably had dyed orange. I looked like a fat match.
