Hello
I am trying to find shoes and a cardigan or jacket to go with this dress from Phase Eight for my brother's wedding in August.
www.octer.co.uk/product/974f4b8d-e5d7-5b08-85ae-a4d18e7f0bb4

I am size 18 and find it so hard to find things that fit (size is mostly due to IBS swelling around stomach) and this one fits and was flattering so I am determined to find something to wear with it to cover up arms!

The lady in phase eight told me to NOT wear black with the dress - but what should i wear instead?

Please help me - I am rubbish at things like this!
Thank you

Oh and yes I would feel silly in a hat and as my two boys are page boys I will be running round them the whole time and a hat would annoy me! A jewelled red slide would be fab. I will get looking

Wow! I never in a million years expected such fab advise! You are great! Thanks. I got the dress in the phase eight sale but the didn't have the matching jacket. I've googled and nowhere has it in anything bigger than a 10 unfortunately. I'm
At work at the moment with very limited internet so can't open links but I will do when I get home later. Thank you for giving me the confidence to wear it x

The dress is delicious.

Not a red jacket unless it's a perfect match - one designed to go with the dress if there is one. Shoes silver, delicate not hefty navy ones or perhaps cobalt blue. No hat unless you really love them!

Some lower sparkly picks from debenhams, with a red wrsp or shrug could be nice.

The dress is beautiful. Excellent pick.

A beige shrug or cardigan will deaden it. So will black. I'd try silver; it's a wedding so you can glam it up. If you can find a jacket in the same colour red, that would work even better, but it would have to be the same red.

Shoes: I'm with the poster who recommended a contrasting colour. It's August so why not go for sandals? You should be able to find a fairly low pair.

Fascinators are a bit of a yawn now. If you don't want to wear a hat (and if you do it has to be a statement, not some £9.99 apologetic looking thing that's neither one thing or another) go for a gorgeous red jewelled hair slide.

m.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_63430+95177592_-1 - with silver shoes ? Debenhams usually have a good range.
Or a cream pashmina ?
Are you on Pinterest ? If I struggling with an outfit I go on there, or Polyvore x

Can you not get the matching jacket to go with the dress? You could then go navy or black for shoes, hat and bag. Grey might work too.
Lovely dress!

Sorry, I checked after I'd posted and of course no where has it in stock. There a couple of other red phase eight jackets in stock at HOF - worth a look on the off chance they match?

You won't look like you're in uniform, don't worry :) a nice navy wrap would look good (or cream I guess) and be less cardiganny...

That would be perfect Litttlealllovertheshop but I have already checked and they only have it in a size 8 or 10. Boooo. Thanks for confirmation about dress being nice - I thought it was but my mum told me it would look too christmassy for a summer wedding so I was starting to doubt myself! I shall ignore her! I like the idea of going for a totally contrasting colour like electric blue! I just worry that navy and red is the uniform for Virgin airways staff!

Silver or jewelled sandals would look fab. But I don't see what's wrong with a black sandal - something not clompy could look elegant

The monsoon jacket is nice actually. Primark have similar if you're on a budget Smile

I love nude shoes but wouldn't wear with red, it's the wrong tone. I agree silver or navy could look nice but personally I'd probably choose another bright colour like electric blue or bright yellow. One of the housewives on real housewives of New York I watched today had a bright red dress on with zingy yellow stilettos and it looked fab!

The dress is gorgeous and has a jacket to go? I wouldn't wear a nude/cream shrug with it, I think it would look odd.

M and s is my go to for comfy shoes:

Oh yes, that is a nice dress!

Something like this would work well with it, I think

If you want to cover up your arms all day go for a dress with a sleeve. I think shrugs/bolero's are old fashioned and scream 'I hate my arms.' Much better to go with a dress with a sleeve.
