Foundation for pale, cool toned skin (pic)

Years ago I gave up on all liquid foundation as too yellow, and I've been wearing translucent powder (when I use anything) ever since. Have things moved on? Is there a foundation for my pale, slightly pink face?

I have clear skin that tends towards dryness, so I'm looking for sheer coverage that will make me look dewy and fresh, rather than anything mattifying. I don't ask for much.

Here is a make-up free picture of my face in natural light with a gratuitous terrier for your viewing pleasure.

I'm really confused and this is probably a daft question. My "colours" are Autumnal, deep and warm. But having just investigated, my skin is cool (my wrist veins look blue). I had always assumed I must have warm skin if warmer tones suit me but it seems this is not the case. I am pale, slightly freckly, have red in my mid brown hair. That's probably all irrelevant lol. But there is no correlation between skin tone and the colours that suit you?

I've tried so many foundations over the years, like you I am pale and cool toned. My favourite foundation at the moment is Nars Luminous Weightless foundation - its really natural and they do a great range of colours.

The Bobbi Brown and MAC foundations I have tried in the past were too yellow but that may have been down to the assistants choosing the wrong shade!

ps I think your dog is so cute!

I'm very fair, and use Lancôme Teint Idole in 010

Those drops look brilliant. Thank you lavender

Pupsie, veins rarely mean anythibg, it's a red herring really. If you've been properly diagnosed as an Autumn then your skin will be warm not cool. Warm skin suits warm colours and vice versa

Fuzzypeggy · 10/03/2016 17:30

Pupsie, re your last question, is there no correlation between your skin tone and what colours suit you. This is the wrong way round, what colours suit you are entirely dependant on your skin tone

I am in love with Korean BB creams. They are properly pale/cool, the palest one I own is nearly white (Missha M Signature #13). They also often have a dewy, glowy finish. Dr Jart Premium and Missha Perfect Cover #13 and Missha Magic Cushion #21.

Feawen · 10/03/2016 20:29

That sounds amazing, Frugal, but where do you get them from?

Gosh. The thought that there might be a foundation out there that is too pale and cool for me is hard to wrap my head around! Misha M signature 13 might be though.

Thanks fuzzy. That was what I thought but the vein thing threw me!

Feawen Revlon Colorstay in Ivory is really pink on me (sadly matte not glowy finish). If it is too pink, the Korean stuff is good for more balanced undertones. I've ordered from Amazon and eBay, Boots carries Dr Jart Premium. Adding some swatches from old threads:
