How many bras do you have?

Talking to a friend last week and explaining money was short so can't afford to replace two white bras that have been better days, so that leaves me with five - two black, one dusty pink, one cream and one white - she was shocked I'd originally had seven as she says she doesn't need any more than the three she's got.

So being noisy, how many bras have you got?

I went for ages and ages having 2 and then I went on a bit of a bra-splurge and now I have 3 exercise bras, 1 flesh coloured, 1 white, 1 black and my life is SO much easier.

3 nudes, a couple of black. No matching pants. Shock
I'm with the pp on last page: what use is a white bra.
And as for fancy lace ones, they're so bloody visible under clothes.

loads and loads. Having had and BF 2 kids in 2 years of course means I keep changing sizes a well, but even when I'm not, I still have loads.

It's not a question of need - yes, I could probably manage with one nude bra. I could probably also manage with one, sensible pair of black shoes. Just don't want to Wink

I have loads, but only about 5 of them are my current size, as I've put on a bit of weight, this year.

And I'm a plain cotton knickers type of woman. Even if I didn't hate the idea of knickers in the same synthetic fabrics as bras, there is nothing whatsoever about my hip and belly area that can be improved by a pair of pretty knickers.

Two flesh colours ones with clear straps for when I wear clothes that need them......not often.

2 black, 4 white and a pink one.

About seven, all Freya, all with matching pants. Plus a sports bra. I like a clean bra every day.

2 white, 1 nude, 1 red, 1 black, 1 purple.
All nice and fancy.
I hate dull boring underwear.
A couple will need replacing soon which means I will have to have a full day out in the nearest city just to come back with two bras that fit. Smile

I must have around 25 to 30 bras, but only 10 of them are really comfortable. The others are my correct size, but the wires dig into me or they itch, or there is something else about them which makes them uncomfortable.
If anyone knows how to recycle bras that are in good condition, do let me know! I don't think charity shops take them, but there must be somewhere that accepts second hand bras.

I have about 20, all with 2 matching pants. I do tend to wear the same half dozen though, as a lot are a bit lacy for under t-shirts or anything smooth. Time for a bit of a cull I think.

Thanks PDXS I did try searching a few weeks ago for places that recycled bras and the only places were shops with bra banks, and none of them were anywhere near me.

Found it :) Bravissimo have bra bins in store - info is here:

"We also support Mind through our in-store bra recycling scheme. You can recycle your old bras in whatever condition they’re in by popping them in the recycling bins in-store. For every kg we receive we’ll donate £1 to Mind. The bras that are donated are all then recycled for good use. Those which are in a useable condition go directly to developing countries across the world. Those bras which cannot be used in their entirety are broken down into parts which are again recycled into new items. We will accept any bras in any condition - simply pop them into the recycling bins in store."

Otherwise, seems a few charities collect

some others here but no experience:

i think oxfam also send to developing countries & that might be a lot easier for most of us to drop off!

Oh Blush I thought that everyone had oodles of bras! I have at least 20 and I thought that was quite a normal (even maybe low!) number.

In my defence, I mainly buy them from cheaper shops than the rest of my clothes - so most of them are coloured t-shirt ones. I only have about 5 fancy ones... And my boobs have only gone up one size since my younger shopaholic years so I've only ever needed to totally redo the drawer once.

Thanks pdxs there is a Bravissimo near me, which I have been avoiding because I always end up buying at least one bra when I go in! I never noticed the recycling bins, probably because I am too busy looking at all the lovely bras. Must be strong and just do a 'drop off'.

I think if you count sports bras, strapless, crop tops and everything I've probably got about 10 at the moment. I have had more in the past (got rid of a lot a few months ago when I finally admitted I needed to go up a size) but it doesn't matter how many I have, I still put off washing them until I'm down to the last one, which is usually something completely inappropriate like a strapless bra to wear with jeans and a woolly jumper. I could probably get away with less too - but I do like having lots of different kinds.

I'm not an expensive bra freak - most of mine come from places like George and Peacocks and I think the most I've ever paid for one is about £12.

I have a wardrobe full but wrong size
Some really nice too.
I did bra intervention and was massively out in my size so now only have 4 that fit. Out of that four the most neutral daytime one has a rip, one in lacy and part of a 'best set' and one now doesnt fit. Bought from same shop (BOux Avenue) but im getting one boob bulging out so not comfy or looking good. So basically I have one decent day one and one decent night.
I am going to re measure later I think.
