Didn't expect her to look so classy Blush

The lace is gorgeous close-up.

Her dress, their behaviour.

I don't like the shoes, they don't go with the dress.

They are probably a nod to her personality I like them but then I have similar!

Report
NickiFury · 16/05/2015 14:03

Not really, they just don't go with the dress.

Night club shoes are not bridal! I think people are so hung up on the imaginary rules

Is it really about her dress? It seems to be more about her behaviour.

Maybe he didn't want his parents there? Maybe there weren't blindly accepting of his questionable behaviour so they all fell out? It doesn't have to be that his parents refused point blank to attend. Maybe they're putting their grandchild first? you know the one that isn't a fully grown millionaire who is fully capable of taking care of himself.

No one knows but I think that getting married in this way does look a bit "fuck you" to anyone that's been hurt by it.

I always thought Geri was a desperado and still do.

Shoes are all wrong too, night club shoes NOT bridal shoes

Because the thread is about Geri's dress..?

Well then by the sound of it he's the one who's dumped his partner and baby and is now having a flash wedding. So why is no-one having a pop at his outfit?

Report
Twinklestein · 16/05/2015 13:34

I've no idea whether Horner had already dumped his wife when he decided to get together with Geri, it's none of my business.

But, in the circumstances, with a devastated ex and upset parents, having a grand wedding with fanfare and full media coverage is insensitive and in poor taste.

If it were me I'd go off and do it somewhere quietly.

Mind you I wouldn't shack up with man who would dump a wife + baby.

She may have behaved badly, I don't know the story (though I assume the groom is the bigger offender, no?). Even if she has, I still don't see what bearing her choice of wedding dress has on anything. Some posters are starting to sound like my great aunts back in the 60s. Have we had 'soiled goods yet'?

Report
Twinklestein · 16/05/2015 13:08

how do we know that he didn't want to marry his ex and it was her that didn't want to get married?

We don't, but given she'd just had a baby with him I reckon she'd rather he didn't bugger off.

I agree with the OP that the dress was classy. The same, regrettably, cannot be said for her behaviour or that of Christian Horner. As many others have said, low key and restrained would have been more appropriate in the circumstances. Respect to Mr and Mrs Horner senior for refusing to attend.

Patsy Kensington is about the same age as Kylie and Jason, around 45-47.

I'm suddenly the same age as that woman from Footballers Wives although I'm sure when Footballers Wives was on telly she was at least 6 years older than me.

I was sure Patsy kensit used to be the same age as me in the 90s Grin

Think she is telling porkies about her age alright. Yet if you try to google it Wiki etc it says she was born Aug 72, that makes her younger than me! but she can't be as she was always 3 yrs older. Remember working it out when SG were huge. But why lie? if I looked half as good as she does I'd be screaming it from the rooftops. Think dress is gorge - v traditional n classy

I do think the pair of them are total twats - but how do we know that he didnt want to marry his ex and it was her that didn't want to get married?

It's all a bit too frou frou for me.

At her age I think the dress would have looked better without the veil, with her hair up and a tiara. It's a bit undignified to try to play the ingenue, and in the circumstances, in questionable taste.

I predict once there is a baby or split relations between the Groom and his parents, will improve.

I'm afraid I think bridal gowns look a bit ridiculous on all women - I've never understood the appeal. But a 40-something woman is as entitled to look ridiculous on her wedding day as a 20 year-old.

And I can't imagine not turning up at my son's wedding, no matter what he'd done.

I couldn't give a shit about Geri Haliwell at all - one of the luckiest people in showbiz, to be so rich on so little talent. I can never see her without hearing that horrible, nasal shouty voice and "Loooooooook at me". But, that link to David Beckham's 40th - his Instagram photo at the end of it. What a mess he's made of his body!

I know several of those Met someone recently at dp's work do who had met someone abroad and left his partner of 10 plus years and married her within 6 months
