I need help finding a WOW dress

We have something planned for the first NYE in 8 years. We are going to a hotel on NYE afternoon, for afternoon tea, followed by canapés, drinks, dinner and a party plus a stay over. We are going with two other couples (both of the girls are beautiful, slim and childless) so after afternoon tea, we will head for our rooms to get dressed. I need an amazing dress. I'm envisioning a staircase as we make our entrance Anyway, I'm a wobbly 12. My boobs need scaffolding to keep them in place and my legs need covering.

Has anyone seen a gorgeous dress online anywhere. I've seen some nice coast and debenhams ones but they're a bit too pricey, I will hold out for the sales if need be, but won't be able to relax until I have THE dress. Ideally I need to get it online due to the age of my kids (7,3,2,2) I avoid the shops x

My favourite wow dress is a red sarong one from Vivienne of Holloway, they are gorrrrgeous and make you feel all vixeny. The shape is so flattering.

Thanks so much for the suggestions ladies, sorry for the delay, I was rudely interrupted by a vomiting toddler and have been up to my armpits in it ever since.

There are some serious dresses to consider there, thanks so much! I can't get on to asos ATM, damn Black Friday! But looking forward to seeing your other suggestions x

Or maybe these ones from Wallis:

Dress 1

Dress 2

Dress 3

Based on what you've said in your original post, I've tried to find dresses that cover your legs and that you can wear a bra with.

Would any of these be suitable for your NYE party?

From Dorothy Perkins (as I don't think you mentioned a budget or price range in your post)

Dress 1

Dress 2

Dress 3

Have a look at St Bustier. Very flattering dresses for curvy figures.

Flossie, are you a personal stylist, your suggestions are great!

Me ex professional now sahm, I really struggle with smart casual.

5 ft 2", 8 1/2 stone, or 163 cms 54kgs, size 10, 44yrs old.

What should I be wearing? I am sporty, active and out all elements. My colouring could pass for Italian, Greek or Turkish, although I am none of these.

I like funky mint velvet (get quite a bit in there), I like a bit of lk Bennett but I am too short and my feet too wide. Hobbs is too square for my body shape, Zara is good, if not a little too youthful, Reiss, or Karen Millen, just no, I am not a stick insect.

In my head, I want to be tall, 6ft, blond wavy haired, statuesque, I am non of the above. I want that drapey cape look, but when I tried my 34DD make me look fat as a house. I have tried the tailored tweed jacket, Joules type look, but boobs make me look short and fat. Tried jersey jacket but wrong.

Hopeless case. All style and beauty. KLAXON EQUIVALENT. Please help.

Sleep now, will reply tomorrow.

Colourwise I like black, gold, red, nude. I guess quite muted colours.

My legs are very skinny and shapeless at the bottom, but they are big and wobbly at the top, so they're definitely not my best feature. When I was pregnant with my twins, my legs blew up so much, I have stretchmarks that go down towards by calves so feel very conscious having them out these days.

I love fishtail/mermaid dresses and beading x

Hi OP

Do you have any colours in mind?
Why must your legs me covered and is it a floor length/maxi dress you would like?
