Superdry.....only for teens?

I'm on maternity leave and may have taken leave of my senses. Usually I look for 'work' clothes but recently I have wandered into Superdry and I really like some of their clothes, in particular an army green shirt and an oversized charcoal top. I'm not talking about the clothes with Superdry splashed all over them in neon writing but some of their clothes really appeal. They have t-shirts in thick material which look like very good quality (as well as t-shirts in very thin material which look terrible).

The thing is I'm approaching 40. The shop is full of students and teenagers. Am I yearning for my youth? Would I look ridiculous in Superdry clothes?

I love it, so does my DH. I'm 35, he's 36. I like the fit, like the quality and can afford it, so why not?

My teens won't wear SuperDry any more. I see plenty of older men/women wearing it though, so I would definitely say not just for teens.

At a size 16/18 on top I could barely fit my arm in SD blazer in TKMaxx the other week.

One of the founders of the company came into work to give a talk to an awayday a couple of years ago. I recall her saying that they'd named the brand after a Japanese beer and that they'd initially sold in affluent university towns. She did apologise for the tiny sizing though :(

I know what you mean about the big sizing of white stuff I am the same height as you and slender no hips really. Even their 6's are oversized. White stuff doesn't quite live up to its potential. They need more fitted clothes.

Noddy - I think I tried on that coat or at least a similar one. I love the back pleat especially.

I'm not a fan of White Stuff. Everything is oversized and well sort of frumpy looking on me though I like it on the website, enough to have ordered it online three times but I have always returned everything as it does nothing for me. I'm 5ft. 2in. so perhaps I'm just too short for it. I also feel 'young' in my mind so when I try it on, I feel old. Same thing with Fat Face actually.

When I originally posted the question, I was referring to clothes that didn't have a huge logo on it. I'm not a fan of paying shops to advertise their clothes either and also logos tend to make clothes very casual. I need clothes that I can wear pretty much anywhere.

I'm 29 and have a coat from there. I looked everywhere for something that was fairly lightweight but still warm, waterproof and that I actually liked, and Superdry was the only place I found anything! Had never been in there previously.

I've lots of it, including a logo hoodie and coat, also some dresses, tops and a cropped denim jacket.

No idea what gopping means just goes to show coolness and style is in the eye of the beholder as is beauty . To me white stuff is grown up indie kid .when I first look I think frumpy then I take a closer look and find lots of quirky stuff I like . I always seem to come back to it . Overpriced though and hate the loud patterned stuff. Sorry talking about white stuff rather than superdry

I have a pair of plain superdry chino shorts. Good fabric, flattering cut and the right length. Not loads of branding all over them, a little tag that you would have to be looking for to find.

Hmm I am normally the first to jump up and down on these kinds of threads but logos ... they just make me feel slightly murderous. I'm like, so not only do you want me to wear clothes that advertise your brand, you want me to pay some eye watering price for the privilege? Well piss off, pal and take your fecking logo with you.

I would say Superdry is far more for fortysomethings than teenagers, based on the fact that I see loads of the former sporting it and barely any of the later.

It's like Facebook, it stopped being cool for kids when all the parents got into it

I disagree with Dexter about Hollister being trendier than white stuff I think white stuff is far cooler. DP aged 44 wears super dry and the sort with big logo on it ...I wish he wouldn't. Dare i say slightly chavy isn which to me means a bit sheepish wearing stuff because it is branded and following the crowd.

I feel odd wearing similar clothes to DD 14, but am only 33 and that is what most people in my age group wear.

All my SIL's wear very visible logos Hollister, SuperDry, Abercrombie and Fitch etc. None of them have teenaged DC though.

I like some of their clothes, but not the ridiculously loud music they blare out, or their prices. Must look on ebay :)

I wear superdry, amongst other labels. Fred Perry, Timberland, Hilfiger, Levis are all faves too. I'm 43 and I think I look fierce! fuck it, honestly. I can afford brands now and I'm gonna wear them.

Some simple rules of course are keep the branding subtle/ hard to find and never wear two items of the same brand at the same time.

I'm 43 and a mum, and proud of both facts. I'm not trying to look like a teenager. But I've loved branded sports/ jeanswear all my life and now that I can afford it I'm gonna Pritt stick myself all over and run through the mall.

Jeanswear, that's my new word today.

I wear Superdry, and Hollister, and A&F. It's cheap, a lot of the stuff is decent quality material and washes well. My two favourite shirts are a Superdry and Hollister.

It's not just for teens at all, I think,it's like Gap and a Banana and Republic used to be, the appeal is there for younger people, but the clothes are good basics for any age.

I wouldn't wear anything with any logo, but I have a nice pair of shorts and I like some of their tops.
