How do you not look tarty or frumpy if you have big boobs..?

I'm a 34g and find it an absolute nightmare ( and v time consuming ) to find clothes that either don't make me look bigger than I am or make me look top heavy. I think Bravissimo is great but I am sooo disappointed in Pepperberry, I think their clothes are overpriced, frumpy and often just bigger versions of clothes in normal stores, ie styles that are for smaller busts that are unflattering to bigger ones and often cut v high under the bust thus emphasising them. Wrong! I suit styles that are more long and flowing and that skim the bust ( long, floaty skirts and waterfall cardigans etc to balance my top half) but they are hard to find and not v fashionable...

How do you cope with/ dress yours?

People with little bust say, oh you're so lucky but I have literally spent a day going round the shops and found nothing and come back depressed and wanting a boob reduction!

I've got 28ff/30g boobs. I just go for what fits and if it doesn't and is too tight round bust area I don't buy it.

Am 5ft5 approx size 12 but good legs so I'll play up those, draw attention to those.

I do hate (and buy TM Lewin or old Karen Millen staple) shirts/blouses so try not to wear or buy them.

Lurking on this thread, liked the sound of the dd atelier clothes ocelot linked but am unable to view as my settings say they are pornography!

With a 10 yo DS, am pleased to know they are working, if a little over efficiently.

Just to share, I'm always looking for work clothes, so got 2 shirts from DD atelier:
dd-atelier.com/Blouse-Vikki-in-Watermelon.html
and dd-atelier.com/Blouse-Sicilia-in-White.html

Love them both, no gaping, good length, fabric not see-through (often a problem with white shirts). The Sicilica is more fitted at the waist, so I maybe could have used a size up from Vikki, but then again it looks great worn inside trousers or skirts. Recommended.

Changing from lurking on this thread to posting.

I ordered this jumpsuit (www.romanoriginals.co.uk/invt/30704?colour=Black) for the Christmas season and love it. It's very comfortable, lots of fabric to make it feel expensive and offer forgiveness over my other well endowed parts. The cleavage on it is great without being too much. I've worn it to at least 3 different parties and it's been a big hit. Not many sizes left for it, but I thought I should pass on the link since I've discovered so many from this thread!

Just got v polite email from manager saying I would be refunded promptly and they would be reviewing their company policy to bring it into line with regulations. Hurrah! Thanks to lawyer friend for the advice!

Sorry to revive an old thread folks, but as it was me who so wholeheartedly recommended Ronen Chen I felt I had to warn you! The company are claiming that it is their 'policy' not to refund sale goods if they are returned. Other than this being bloody cheeky (there is no warning of their returns policy on the site and you only find out when you receive your order), it is actually against the law in the UK.

Check out the Distance Selling regulations - they allow consumers of online goods to return them and get a full refund - even if the items are not defective. No exception is made for sale goods and the only condition is that this must be done within 7 working days.

Am currently in the process of explaining this to them and hopefully they will change their company policy shortly so that it is in line with British law. Hope none of you got stung and have bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing having recommended them so warmly now!

I'm a 32f but only 5.4, but I have a hour glass figure ( not easy, I run miles:)

I wear fitted things as otherwise I look small and round. I avoid anything like roll neck jumpers. I wear a cardigan or fitted nipped in jacket if I don't want to look too keen:)

I like pencil skirts with heeled ankle boots, fitted tshirt -with a cardi or jacket. Bit predictable but it looks nice and I dont look top heavy.
I can't wear sloppy jumpers, I just look like I have a matrons bosom.

Sorry, forgot to say Statistically, I am usually between a 12 and a 14 and take a 30F cup and the 80D better on me than the 80F (I thought I would be between the two but 80D is fine, esp now have lost a bit of weight (now 9st 11)

I am a bit Blush at how much I have spent! But in my defence, I haven't bought ANYTHING new for about 2 years because I was a/losing weight and b/paying fulltime childcare. So it has been a bit of a splurge.

This one dd-atelier.com/Panel-Dress-in-Colourblock.html is DH's favourite - he has already dubbed it my 'Bond Girl' dress Wink. Its a bit 'On your knees and worship these curves, for lo, I am WOMAN!' so I probably wouldn't wear it to work, but it is a GREAT date night dress.

This is the one I think I will probably wear the must. It's a nice toffee colour, but will probably wear over leggings and knee high boots, rather than as a dress dd-atelier.com/Dress-tunic-Wrap-Me-brown.html

Silky workshirt is really beautiful dd-atelier.com/Silk-Blouse-Olivia.html

Um, and some tops. At 7 Euro in the sale, it would be rude not to! dd-atelier.com/V-neck-DD-basic-top-in-green.html
dd-atelier.com/DD-basics-top-in-sea-green.html

This is also lovely, but a bit low for everyday wear so I would stick a cami under it dd-atelier.com/Ruched-front-top-in-mint.html

Great value, I thought, really lovely fabric, subtle not 'cheap' colours and great cut. Impressed! Sorry for mammoth post.....You did ask!

It would have been the loud TWANG wot gave it away I think Scarletohello (cringe...) May have to investigate some of these bra sites as the cheapies clearly can't stand the pressure...

HazleNutt · 23/01/2014 08:34

try Fantasie Esme, makes boobs look smaller. (some websites claim it's molded, it's not, so no added bulk)

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 23/01/2014 07:03

There are plenty of non padded ones, but in terms of making them look smaller it depends what you are after. Certain bras give a very lifted and projected shape like ewa and cleo, others make them look taller and wider but not as sticky out like the bravissimo half cups. I wouldn't recommend actual minimizes though as they eitger crush them or shove them in the armpits

Does anyone know of a bra that makes your boobs look smaller ?

Even ones for big busts seem to be slightly padded these days!!

BTW on the subject of tittage. New M and S bra strap broke half way through important meeting with eight make colleagues. One G cup up, one G cup down mid-presentation. GAWD the embarrassment. Not buying from them again!
