Best red lipstick?

Beeyump · 28/10/2013 16:44

I have red hair, and have been told by a few people that 'redheads just don't suit red lip colour', that kind of thing. But I LOVE it.
I currently wear MaxFactor Ruby Tuesday
Any recommendations/favourites?

Haha, that will teach me not to be lazy about bolding posters' names!

Could be the launch of a whole new makeup line!

Haha, I think it's the poster who is called Branleuse rather than the lip colour!

MAC have a lipstick called Red Branleuse? That means red wanker in French! Not such a boring name. I second MAC and Chanel for red lipsticks.

If anyone likes orangey reds, I can recommend Chanel Incandescente (shade 97).

Pleasure Me Red and Hollywood Red, both Maybelline or MAC Diva Glam 1 all work for me, but I'm not a redhead!

NYX Eros

NYX Fire

NYX eLectra

They are all lovely reds. I love NYX, hate the new formulation of MAC lipsticks, they are not the same quality as they were years ago.

NYX chic red lipstick is beautiful.

Not to be confused with NYC.

Mac Russian red for me. I'm a natural redhead and henna'd more bright red!

I found ruby woo to be too bright pink on me. Russian red contains more blue tones I found.

Off out to sample some off the recommendations here now though too. I wore the mac one to a wedding at the weekend and found I had to keep reapplying loads.

I have Mac Absolute Power and Mac Ronnie Red - both are limited editions, but very close to Ruby Woo, just not as matte and drying.

Can anyone recommend one that has blue in it, but cheaper than Chanel? Grin

Chanel red, all the way. They only do one red, it suits everyone. It's shade 19 I think. I've got red hair and paleish skin and it looks good on me. It lasts forever and goes on beautifully smoothly. Best lipstick ever in my opinion.

Any Chanel Coco that has a bit of blue in it, they are really good mosturizers and that is the most important thing with reds
