This A/W must have is a PINK COAT

According to the fashion glossies.

In my defence, I only read mags (like Red, Marie-Claire) in August on holiday (I don't have the time or inclination to read them any other time)
So the Sept issues said "If you only buy one thing to update your A/W wardrobe, it has to be a pink coat"

(last year they said brocade and paisley and I was very pleased but saw pretty much none )

As the other trend seems to be plether trim.... I think I'll go down the pink coat route Grin

Anyone seen or bought a nice pink coat? What shade?
Baby? Dusky? Barbie?

OMG I bought it as well. The colour looks quite classic rather than the pale pink trendy shade. I hope it fits and that's one big item I don't need to worry about for the next few years.

I had a lovely pink coat I hoarded for about 12 years. Needless to say I sent it to the charity about 6 months ago.

I just saw an Oasis one in their A/W Lookbook that's lovely.

Just bought it jimjamspan on your recommendation! Fingers crossed it looks as nice on as in the pictures! (Online shopping = dangerous)

I'm a winter - it's a very deep raspberry pink, almost red - I think it suits me, it is a very lovely coat and a good price I thought

You've got to love fashion people... Pale pink coats - sooooo practical do these folks not live anywhere that it rains ever?

Think of the mud splatters all the way up the back.

Also anyone who communtes on public transport will need to take a plastic bag to sit down on (tres chic)

I'm sure they'll look gorgeous for about a week, and then they'll either live in your wardrobe or the dry cleaners.

What's a car coat?

After months of deliberation, i finally gave away a pink coat to a charity shop, earlier this summer. Typical. Grin

I might buy another paler one. I found for work, pink was the most versatile colour to go with grey, black, navy and chocolate brown trousers. It works with them all well. I have dark blonde hair, blue eyes and skin that tans easily (no idea what hoc that makes me!) and pale or hot pinks suit me. Nothing dusky or peachy.

Like the Betty Jackson one in the new Marie Claire. Not online yet though.

I tried on a pink coat today in tk maxx. I looked like a prawn. :(

I've got a dusky pink all wool crombie style coat bought for a bargainous £15 from a charity shop years ago. It brightens my mood on the days I wear it and I love how I feel in it. I don't wear it often but will happily be using for many winters to come.

Jimjamspam bought the deep pink Isla, which is reduced as its old stock. I saw it in store and thought it a proper raspberry. But I might be wrong, as it was a while ago.

It's the one linked to by jimjamspan. I've tried a link above as well. It seems substantially reduced so I wonder if it's this season's.

If you mean the Hobbs one thatis in store now, it has a very slight warm tone to it. I am a Summer and will consider it, but its is quite pale

That Hobbs one is beautiful and 100% wool too. I wonder if I could justify it. For those who've seen it in the flesh - does the pink have any hint of yellow/peach in it? I'm a HOC winter and it wouldn't work on such a large scale.

I bought a lovely dusky pink coat from Toast this Spring and hope it will see me through the autumn, but probably not winter. Not often I'm avant la lettre!

That Hobbs Isla deep raspberry pink coat is gorgeous. A really good buy, I think. And classic. It seems this season's pink coat MUST have is rose to pale pink. Pretty, but not hugely practical and definitely going to look like last tear's trend item IMO.

I don't like the idea of being dictated too my fashion editors, so I'm sticking with black. Eternally chic and I won't forever look so 2013. Fine if the colour suits you, but not one to 'invest' in, IMO.

The ghastly Rihanna had a beautiful nina ricci hot pink coat last year but it cost over two grand!

How about this

;) ha ha

Pale pink will look silly on me. I have dark hair and usually have a tan and I wear bright pink lipstick so I think a hot pink coat is the one for me!

I'm sticking with my navy peacoat. Will buy some pink scarves to wear with it.

Me too Angelina - I love that bubblegum mid pink, it suits me and isn't often available. I have a longline vest from Mamas and Papas of all places in a lovely mid pink that's on its last legs. A coat is a step too far though.
