How long is your share of the hanging rail in your wardrobe?

That's it really. I am getting a new wardrobe and have decided that it and one half of the chest of drawers will hold all of my clothes. I want to own less, wear them more in my new improved world :). My DH is also going to fit the base of the wardrobe with two long shelves for extra storage but that will be it.

I have about 4m hanging space. But there's quite a lot of 'give' in that, because it's there so I separate out to make finding things easy. So probably could fit it into about 2.5 at a push.

We share a single wardrobe, about 1m, it has two half hanging rails.

Also have two large and two small drawers.

I always make myself throw out at least one thing when I buy something new to me dh has been trained to do the same.

This is really great and very inspiring! My new wardrobe has already taken on mythic proportions and is going to change my whole life :). I really believe that by making this 120cm rail and the shelves below the extent of my clothing I will lead a purer, better life! I am also delusional about many other areas of my life

i have the wardrobe and chest of drawers in our room. DH has one (bigger than mine, but has lots of other things stored in there too) in the spare room. i don't know how much hanging space there is tbh but it's perfect for me, I have my shoes/boots/bags in boxes or dust bags in the bottom of the wardrobe and nothing anywhere else in the house.

I can understand that. My mm has something similar. But I'm struggling with the fitting in 3-6 separate wardrobes.

I've just got one of those sliderobe things running wall to wall floor to ceiling. narrows the room by a couple of feet but no doors to open so less space needed

How do you all have enough space for multiple wardrobes? We've got one wardrobe and a chest of drawers and no more space.

I have six wardrobes. DH has two. Each about 1m.

we've got one that runs the full length of one wall and it's a double rail and we've got half each.

I have 1/3 of a 120cm rail. DH has the rest. He has more drawers than me too. And yet he's the one that's always moaning about not having enough clothes.

I have the whole rail. DH has the five shelves on the side.

Oh, don't even get me started about our floordrobe.

In theory, we've each got one Ikea double-door thingumy (and further space in another room) but they're side-by-side to form an alcove, and Guess Who has the one further in? That I can never get to because the alcove is always so full of crap?

We recently had to buy a second wardrobe because of this 'sharing' thing.

My dresses were getting creased as we shared a rail 50/50 (well, 60/40, I have more clothes!) so I took the drastic step of buying another wardrobe for DP.

Much better Smile

I have a rail and a chest of drawers which are bursting plus all the space underneath the rail and a shelf on top of the rail. OH has a rail which is half full, and a chest of drawers. We're looking into getting fitted wardrobes to hide everything so i hope we can find one with efficient storage. i also have the storage space under the bed - far too many clothes. Sienna will grow up to be just like her mummy lol! x

I am also trying to reduce the amount of stuff I have, aiming for quality over quantity.
I have about two thirds of a shared rail - around 80cms. I have a large basket on the shelf above the rail and room for shoes under the rail. I also have 2 large drawers and a small drawer in a chest we share.
I hang seasonal coats / jackets. Those not in season get packed and stored away in the attic. I hang dresses, shirts, skirts and trousers.
I fold all knitwear and keep in the basket above.
I have one large drawer which I fold Ts, vests and also keep running attire in.
In the other drawer I fold jeans, leggings and shorts.
Oh wait, I also have space in the tall boy by my bed which I keep underwear and scarves.

I have about half of a 120cm hanging rail, and five drawers in a single wardrobe, and that holds everything - undies, sports clothes etc. only shoes are elsewhere

Separate Wardrobes. I absolutely could not share!

I have it all to myself. One of the many benefits of being single, although I have rather begrudgingly given over a drawer to my chap who stays over occasionally.

DH and I each have two-door built-in wardrobes for long items, and each have a rail in a third single-door wardrobe for shirts, blouses etc. We each have a small 3-drawer bedside cupboard, and share a 6-drawer chest of drawers.

We have equal hanging space but I also have some shelves that I use for cosmetics, perfume and gym stuff. We have separate chests of drawers for undies etc. Neither of us has very many clothes tho.

We have a 4m long wardrobe - it's from Ikea and is also very tall. DH has 1m of it (which gives him a shelf at the top, a hanging rail, another shelf, 2 drawers and a trouser hanger pull out.

The other 3 metres are mine Blush I have built my drawers in to that too so it holds all my underwear, PJs etc as well. Because some of it is double height that basically means I have 4m of hanging rail, 5 large drawers and 5 or 6 small drawers.
