Make up overhaul

I'm looking to update my frankly appalling make up collection and would like some alive on luminising moisturisers or powers please.

I have naturally reddish skin but it's clear and 'normal', to the extent that I guess it's not really an extreme to dry or oily.

Products I use regularly (when I can be arsed) are mostly Benefit, but I use make up so rarely nowadays that I don't really want to splash on their price tag. I think I just wanted beachy sun kissed skin straight out of a container with no faff! I'm not terribly realistic

Does anyone have a simple make up routine which is more or less just chucking stuff on and running out the door? What products do you use?

For a bronze type look that's not heavy try a tinted moisturiser (I like mac as its neither to sticky or too drying ) or a bb cream (I like bobbi brown) and finish with bronzer (again bb or mac are great). Apply where the sun would hit and get it in the shade to suit you. For instance i use golden with not much red in it.
Or try something like Dr Hauschka Bronze concentrate. If your skin is very good just add it to your normal moisturiser. It's very good but go easy as a little goes along way and you could look tangoed.

Thank you, will have a look around for those. Are any of them 'dewy', apparently I need to look dewy! I do have some scarring on my cheeks though so probably should avoid shiny things.

By the way, what is a bb cream?

Thought of another. Mac face and body foundation is pretty dewy, and very lightweight on the skin. I have to use a touch of powder with it.
BB cream is a sort of all in one. A tinted moisturiser, primer, foundation all in one. The bobbi brown one is pretty good as it has staying power.

I mix a blob of this with my foundation to get that effect and I'm really pleased with the results - very natural, dewy but not shiny, allows you to adjust the amount of coverage and is very long-wearing (it's still in place after nearly 12 hours in a hot car today). My foundation is Bourjois Healthy Mix (about £10 for 30ml, but often on offer at Tesco) and the Olay Multiradiance Moisturising Lotion is usually about £5 for 75ml so it's very cost-effective.

Managed to open it on something slightly less rubbish. Definitely in my budget, will get some today.

I've been quite amazed to find that on my skin LRP Anthelios tinted sunscreen does just that - a satiny healthy glowy finish, a bit of color and sun protection to boot! I have very pale skin (about 10 on the MAC scale) so have to mix untinted and tinted Anthelios to get a natural shade, but on most people the tinted shade alone would probably be fine.

this l'oriel stuff is good for redness.

And I recommend bourgeois for blusher.
