.....or is it just me that likes this shallow crap?!

Charlize looked great. I loved Jessica Chastain's dress. Brandi Granville was worst dressed and sorry to all the Jennifer Aniston lovers, but she did not suit that red dress. Jennifer Garner looked good in her Gucci dress. Jennifer Lawrence looked lovely, she is a young girl so perfectly fine to want to wear something more princess-ish.

I loved Amy Adams' dress, although I agree it was too pale for her. I admit, I faffed around yesterday watching E! to see the dresses properly. Jessica Chastain is still my overall fav and she comes across very well as a person to. She is very beautiful. I am Envy. I love red hair too. I didn't see Pen Cruz there this year and she is normally gorgeous in everything she wears.

I loved, loved, loved how Jennifer Aniston looked, thought the red went great with the tan and love her hair. Also thought Nicole Kidman looked beautiful and especially loved her hair and dress. Catherine Zeta Jones however needs to pack up the fags. Kirsten Stewart also beautiful. She looks just like my granddaughter.

Ah, apparently that was Versace:

#2: Patricia Field's Favorite
Asked to identify her favorite piece, Field didn't hesitate to name the drop-dead Versace gown Carrie wore while waiting (and waiting) for Petrovsky on her first night in Paris, towards the end of season 6. "It took you out of reality," she said. Rubenstein agreed: "It's acres and acres of tulle and chiffon, in this darkly romantic color -- the perfect dress to be dumped in. There's nothing more woeful than seeing a beautiful woman all dressed up with nowhere to go."

You're absolutely right- I did not remember the bodice like that at all!

Report
HazeltheMcWitch · 26/02/2013 11:50

I thought that, BOF (the one she fell asleep in, right?). But then when I went back to look, it's not quite how I remembered. In fact, I did not remember the bodice at all pic

Whilst on the subject of SATC/Oscars, how cool would it have been if J-Law had done the 'I fell in Dior' bit - to go with her previous quote from First Wives' Club of 'I beat meryl'.

Sorry, the one that Amy Adams was wearing! I forgot to specify.

Was that grey Oscar De La Renta dress with the ruffles the same as the one Carrie Bradshaw wore in Paris near the end of the final SATC series? It reminds me of it anyway.

Erik Grin at Clooney and his beard.

Probably it's just another one of those Clooney relationships which will look good for a while and then disappear because nothing comes close to his pig (God rest his soul).

Or something.

Chastain looks stunning
Kstew - why? That hair is not good. I know she wasn't standing straight due to her foot but still. She looks like she's playing dress up.
Aniston looks lovely but should have put her hair up.
Love Hugh jackman's wife. She just doesn't give a fuck. If I was 15 years older than my DH and then he got famous and lusted after I'd be a bit o_O about being seen out with him on the red carpet.
Could there be less chemistry between clooney and his beard?
Adele should probably start showing a bit of cleavage. She's starting to look matronly. She's under 25 with a great rack. This is wrong.
Kelly O - purple hair - why?

And at the elton John party -
Baby furnish-John is adorbs
Miley Cyrus looks awesome
Anna paquin has baby twins Envy she's stunning.
Valance - wtf???
And finally - rose McGowan :( such a shame.

Holly Valance is dressing like an old lady, I noticed Catherine ZJ started doing this (and continues to do so) when she started going out with Micheal Douglas. All shiney gold and sparkly, very matronly frocks. There's no need for it. ( and yes, what has CZJ done to her face? It looks like actual surgery rather than just Botox/fillers etc.)

Thought Miley Cyrus looks great, Britney Spears was a revelation.

Sally Field'S dress would have been better, for me, without the ruffles round the bottom. They gave it a slight whiff of toilet roll doll IMO.

Samantha Barks will henceforth be known as Barks on MN.

Congrats Sam! Who needs an Oscar!

She was disappointingly lacklustre in the singing bit, I thought- I would have preferred to see her get into character like Barks (love her, surname it is!), who really commanded the stage.

limelight - agree with you re Barks (I like her too, so let's promote her now to surname status). I'd read on here ages ago about how impossibly thin her waist was in the film, and how she must have been corseted up to the max, and how it was anachronistic... But no, seeing her in that dress, she's just teeny tiny! I think her dress was perfect: she's new, she wasn't a nominee so could not go all out, and she wore a dress that made her natural beauty shine out.

Re Zellweger - she was WASTED. Did you see her present? First then Not good. Queen Latifah looked really concerned for her.

Loved Bonham Carter too. Last night I was watching the arrivals to the red carpet, where the stars have to pose on one spot for a few mins, then another, then another, for the photogs. Bonham Carter seemed lovely (and looked lovely), but looked like she really really does not enjoy that part of the job.

You have to watch e online for their coverage. It's fab-u-lous. Love Ryan seacrest and Giuliana rancic views as so LA it's amaze-balls.

360 glam cams, mani-cams, I've been watching awards for 3yrs on it and its now a confirmed part of my year.... Just so bubblegum escapist. Makes me happy anyways ....blush

I'm liking the surname thing too. Like Premier league football but with more fake eyelashes. I've been waiting to do this all day incidentally - no one in real life seems bothered. Pah!

The thing about Aniston is that her dress was a bit 'ok' but she just looked so bloody HAPPY. And normal (ish). So I think she looked great. Can't begrudge her tbh.

Kidman is becoming a caricature of herself - I'm sorry but I really hated that dress.

I don't even know where to start with Zellweger - frightful.

I thought Adams looked washed out - terrible colour.

Am I the only one (whisper) who doesn't get Lawrence's dress? It just looked uncomfortable and overwhelming to me.

Generally I don't get mad Stewart. Weirdly girly dress on someone who just isn't that girly and actually has a pretty boyish figure which was made even more boyish. Didn't like it sorry.

I want to like Seyfried but don't. Just a bit dull somehow.

Poor Hathaway. I really liked her dress (and especially her jewels!). But it will forever and ever be known as 'the nipple dress'.

Do we think Michael Douglas has some sort of showgirl fetish and CZJ and he are living in an elaborate role play thing?

Watts - sensational! Just glorious.

Theron - amazing and love love love her hair.

Chastain - glorious, old school, flawless.

I actually really liked what Samantha Barks wore (not sure she's famous enough for the surname treatment yet). She looked impossibly young but not in a 'princessy' way, and sort of very British actually but without looking like Bonham Carter (although i really liked her dress). Good on her.

An honourable mention to the more mature ladies. Field, Bassey I thought looked fab in a Bassey sort of way. Emmanuelle Riva looked sensational - great colour and I hope I look as wonderful as she does when I'm 80+.

So glad I've got that out of system!

  1. Very few women of that age and norkage can go bra-less. Even supermodels.

Aniston just looks so...Aniston all the time. She's too tanned to wear red.

And why doesn't Zellweger ever show her teeth {pursed lip emotion}

I liked Myley Cyrus! thought her hair and make up were lovely. Im aware she's only 14

Kidman looked a right state, soo dated . Like Bassey.

I'm ALLLLL about the surnames tonight
