Time for a new bra thread

I am officially a mad bra lady. I staged an intervention today in M&S in an attempt to stop a young lady buying a 36B. She was with her mum who told me her daughter was a size 12 and that's why they'd picked up a 36. I advised her to try a 30! I am now feeling a mixture of shame and pride.

They were like this Shock Confused

And the over measure shouldn't be tight either, unlike the under one

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/03/2013 09:24

That explains it - you will get a bigger measure leaning over which will match up better with the fit issues you are describing. Like this although the tape goes on the fullest part of the breast - the line isn't quite landing there in the diagram

Leaning over its more like 98 cm
God my boobs go a funny shape when I lean forward, pregnancy and breast feeding were not my friend

I will try scooping, the cups are rather squishing me- I don't wear them now and my bigger sized also don't fit but at least don't cut me bras

Bra less yes, leaning over no should I have been?

YesIAm...those measurements translate to 31.9" and 37.8". As you are almost 32" I would start by trying a 32E but La Senza sizing I have read mixed reviews on. Also, have you tried putting on the La Senza bra and scooping vigorously? Sometimes if the cups are too small it makes the back feel artificially small.

It may also be that you need a bigger cup than your measurements suggest - did you take the over measurement braless and leaning over?

Re-read not ready and la senza not sensy

Sorrel iv just ready your op again. Iv got bras in a 34e from la sense that are to tight and I'm a 10-12 on top and a 12 in jeans. The thought of being a 30 terrifies me as I don't understand how if a 34 is to tight it would ever fit?

P.s I think it's brilliant you've started this thread

Can someone please tell me what size I am as soon as possible. I'm about to order a bra online in the sale but don't want to get the wrong size.
Iv measured in cm because that's all I have.
Under bust I'm 81cm over bust I'm 96cm

StatisicallyChallenged - Already did your homework for you...

I went to Rigby and Peller in Knightsbridge (who make the Queens bras and knickers) and was quoted £600 for a made to measure bra Shock

Fitelle quoted me £180 with all additional bras at half price Smile

Before this thread ends, I think Sorrel and Statistically deserve some sort of award. Good bras are not just vanity, they're about comfort and confidence and maybe health, also.
Come on, Mumsnet administrators....

Panache have also lowered wires on G cup + in some styles. Some say next to them in catalogue, otherwise the customer services will tell you

Debenhams have 25% off and extra 10% with BY47 I think (was one of those flash up things) - another £150 of bras on order from there and bravissimo Shock

More bra fails! But some good news, Panache 30GG fits perfectly but the shape was all wrong. I lack fullness at the top so need a bit of light padding at the bottom of the cup in balconette style bras. Any suggestions of which to try now.
I am a 30GG in Freya too.
Gutted the Cleo Meg didn't give a good shape, it's a beautiful bra

I've just rescued a friend! She's been wearing 34/36Bs and is a 28/30F!! She can't understand it because 'this bra's a 36 and it's not loose'. The front middle bit (can't remember name) is not next to her skin, the back isn't horizontal and the straps keep falling down apparently. Ha! Typical! said I, with all the usual zeal of someone who's been an expert on this for, ooh, 2 days Grin
