It has been decided that we need a new Mumsnet Scarf

In order to stop hijacking stormforce10's brilliant thread, in which she gave another TerribleCuntMum a proper bollocking (go, stormforce!!! - and link here for anyone who wants to cheer her on), I am starting this one.

The old Mumsnet Scarf, judging by responses posted to a picture, is just not serving its purpose any more.

Here are a few alternate options.

Please add yours.

Skull scarf with attitude

Gorgeous white and grey butterfly scarf - my personal favourite

More butterfly options, with international shipping for those of us not in UK

Not so great, but worth mentioning nonetheless

The Original Scarf, which looks great on the wearer, but of course we don't all look like that

This is a bit like the Hush one, can't find it online though www.allwornoutblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/20130226-163643.jpg

Can I be very awkward and annoying and ask for a link to the original scarf? There are a thousand variations out there and I want to be sure to get the MN one which is rumoured to be tres long and tres soft. Pretty please someone.

So do we have a clear winner yet? Only I've skimmed re-read the thread and I'm still none the wiser.

I got the orange one. It's not really orange, it's blue and grey with orange border and detail.

poly i think the colour looked cheap. What about you?

I don't like the pale blue bird fakey eiiher - got it last summer but will takie it to charity shop as haven't worn it.

I got the butterfly one on grey linked up thread which is lovely and has been complimented on each time I wear it. I also go the bird fakey mulbery one in pale blue. Not so keen, so giving that one away.

The hush one looks like something I would see in Primark...so will wait patiently till they copy it.

Love the map one...am thinking of getting it. nagoo what colourway did you go for.

Dont like the floral one. But then I dont really like florals at all.

I've seen a really nice scarf around which is ivory coloured with little grey leaves on it. I've tried googling it but can't seem to see it on the net anywhere. I did find one example of it on Google images, but I'm hesitating to post it as it was worn in a courtroom by the sister of a sportsman who has recently shot his girlfriend, so it seems wrong to post that! Anyone know which one I mean and where I can buy it?

Right, well, I have just ordered 2 scarves after reading this thread Blush I plumped for the green mulberryesque birds and the navy elephants.

I would like to add orange spots on beige to the mix, in RL the colour is lovely, its quite unusual.

Gah, on closer inspection, the scarf is made by Stylesnob. I had a look to see if I could see if I could find anything similar/cheaper and found their website. I think it's time to freeze my credit card in a water- filled tupperware Grin

Love that Hush one casa wish it was cheaper.

Just received this from Hush in the post this morning (rather confusing, as the website states all Spring preview stock will be dispatched week beginning 4th March Confused)

Its polyester, but feels nice, and it's lightweight enough for Spring. It's also a really good size - I like a big scarf. I had been looking for a way to get some neon into my wardrobe without going overboard, as too much too close to my face would not do me any favours, and this works perfectly for me. It's not the cheapest at £35, but there's 10% off and free delivery at the moment, so I talked myself into believing I was getting a bargain Grin Love it!

Have any of you been watching The Fixer on BBC with Alex "hotel inspector" Polizzi?
This weeks episode saw her in array of big brightly coloured pashmina type scarves, artistically aranged over the shoulders. of course when i tried it I looked like a bag woman,
One of them was a really lovely deep purple shade

Gosh Nessie your skin tone must be a million miles away from mine, I would look as if I'd bee dug up in any of those colours! Grin

I LOVE them, but sadly they HATE my tone.

Plain is good, a good injection of colour (for me anyway) is lovely, whatever the design.

Yes, Mulberry kickied it off quite a while back now and IMO it was done to death last year. This isn't fashion snobbery - I'm all for things being affordable - I just am genuinely bored with them because have seen them around so much. That's why I'm going back towards 'plainer' designs, like the spotted scarves someone posted on here and the geometric Comptoir des Cotonniers one I posted.

I'm not bored with my MN leopard print scarf, though, because I think animal print is a timeless look.
