The good people at Currys have asked us to find out your top tips and tricks for making the oh-so-glamorous task of cleaning the kitchen a little bit quicker, easier and more straightforward.

Here's what Currys say: "We have a great range of new pyrolytic ovens in stock which are by far the easiest and most effective way to clean your oven, as pyrolytic cleaning heats the cavity to very high temperatures at the touch of a button, sealing the door and reducing all food residue to ash that can be easily wiped away. We'd love to know your own cheeky shortcuts to a clean and sparkling kitchen - do share them here!"

So what are your kitchen cleaning hacks? Do you have a secret method for getting rid of limescale? Are you a whiz with a tub of bicarbonate of soda? Have you worked out how to get the grime off your own oven without losing the will to live?

Everyone who adds their comment to this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win ALL OF THE BELOW!

a) a - Currys exclusive - Znussi Built in pyro oven - worth £400! and
b) a Znussi induction hob - worth £400!
c) AND an AEG 13 place integrated dishwasher - worth £488!

Please note comments may be used by MN and Currys on social media, on the Currys pages on MN or possibly elsewhere - please only add your comment if you're happy for it to be used like this! Closing date: 17 November.

Thanks and good luck

bicarb of soda and a dashof full fat coke in the sink is great for removing stains and limescale and leaves it sparkling. e-cloths are great for cleaning as you don't even need to use products, just water and still get sparkling results on taps and surfaces! Also cant beat a good old spray of vinegar and a chamois for getting your glass gleaming!

For the oven - cream cleaner, scouring pad and lot's of elbow grease. After cleaning stainless steel a little baby oil always polishes it up really good.
For the rest of the kitchen usually antibacterial spray and wipe as needed.

toothbrush and good old baking soda will work wonders in oven, I wipe the oven after each use and keep the door open atleast half an hour to get rid of the smell of food. for deep stains, I always leave a thick past of baking soda on the oven and leave it for half an hour and then brush it on with old tooth brush and wipe it off, it works like a dream. I have never used oven cleaners. My baking soda works perfectly for me.

Definitely clean as you go along! Make sure if you have older children that they do so too, then you aren't cleaning up after them.
Other than that, use a citrus based cleaner - orange is my favourite as it smells lovely and is fantastic for getting rid of stubborn stains.

Put some generous amount of salt into the water when you have a oily surface to clean permanently.

Any blood stain either on you-hope not-or on the carpet will be removed with simple vinegar on cotton.

To clean the red lipstick stain on the kitchen apron,(rather strange place to be, I know) use some benzine. Be away from fire unless you choose to get rid of the lipstick or lipsticky person..

use scrunched up foil with a squirt of dishwashing liquid to clean up glass baking dishes - it feels wrong in a nails on blackboard type of way but works...

little and often goes a long way, so a wipe over after every use. I always use an e cloth so no cleaning chemicals etc required. Last for ages too you can just stick them in the washing machine

After baking a cake I put everything I've used in the bigmixing bowl and wash it all up in that. Saves water as well.

Leave the glass polishing cloth in the cupboard with the wine glasses. You can the. Just give them a quick buff before use for that 5* hotel shine that makes the wine taste even better (you don't put anything on the cloth, the microfibres do the work).

Wipe down your microwave/oven after every use so there no chance of getting baked in food and you can use everyday items for cleaning which may be cheaper than supermarket bought ones, i.e. vinegar can be used for cleaning window

We use a steam cleaner now as we have a 3 year old and want to avoid using chemicals where possible. I love knowing all the germs are killed and with very little elbo grease!!

If you have a deep fat fryer, bicarbonate of soda takes off the last 'bubles' of grease that are a pain to shift.

What are my kitchen cleaning tips, tricks and secrets ??? How about a blonde hair , blue eyed hairy chested half naked chippendale Grin or is that just my pipe dream as I clean as i go along .....
In a home of 5 ... 2 adults and 3 children although I say that the hubby is more like having 2 children as he is the worst .... When we built out home we had lovely white ceramic tiles laid throughout the majority of the ground floor .... not thinking that 2 minuted after mopping the floors and the traffic of the children AND HUBBY who dosen't wipe his feet ever ever ever would look like it had never been done!!!!

My worst things to clean are the toilets as we put in those eco flush toilets AND I HATE THEM WITH A PASSION .... as they never flush properly .... and get stained because of this ... so my trick to keeping them as spotless as i can for as long as possible is shake the inside of the toilet with some bicard of soda, leave ir for a while then spray with white vinegar, leave the foam work for a few minutes then I scrub with a toilet brush.... and for a while it looks brand new ....

Another item on the list of things that are so hard to clean is my oven ... it takes forever to use a stainless steel scourer to scrub the shelves and sides from baked on food .... when i was working there was this fabulous catering cleaner by Johnston Diversey called D9 ... that was the best cleaner before pyroclean ovens ... but my advise is as much as you will hate it .. clean as you use .. that way it is much easier and quicker ....

Get one of the children involved and turn it into a game. It's great although usually the promise of cooking/baking at the end of the tidy-up requires a further clean-up Hmm.

I use white distilled vinegar to get rid of limescale and to descale the kettle.

I hate cleaning the oven and put it off for as long as possible. I would love a self cleaning one, but have always just had basic models. I use Ovenpride to clean the oven. For the oven door I use a dishwasher tablet dampened and wiped on the door, it really works!

I dry the rubber seal of my washing machine after each use and don't close the door inbetween uses to prevent mould and sludge building up.
