As you may have seen already, we're working with B&Q, who so far have helped 20 MNers revamp the unloved rooms in their homes - check out the video of their fab revamps here. MNers have also been posting their before and after pics of rooms they've revamped here so do check out both of those threads for Mumsnetter room makeovers!

What B&Q would like now is to hear from as many MNers as possible...

Which is the most unloved room in your home and why? Is it a bathroom that's more shabby than chic? A garden that's more of a jungle? A living room that's past its best or a spare room that's just a dumping ground?

Everyone who shares their unloved room stories here will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 B&Q giftcard.

Please note that any comments you post here may appear on the B&Q pages on Mumsnet and potentially elsewhere.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw

The downstairs toilet, it doesn't have a window in it and it is always dark and dreary.

Kazzabaz : re ground elder, we had this in our previous house when we first moved there. Even if you can't pull it out, don't let it flower, cut the heads off. We never entirely got rid of it, it's just a matter of controlling it as best you can.

Mmmmm, tough one. Here's my to do list instead;
Buy new furnishings for the den including cushions
Finish stripping the paper off in the dining room and paint, change the light fixture from the horrendous one I inherited and also strip the carpet put and replace with a child friendly easy to clean floor with soft rug for the play area.
Decorate the hallway, stairs and landing as its been 6 years and they are definitely showing wear and tear from a dog and young children, including remnants of washed off drawings. Finally get my photo wall completed too.
Decorate the bathroom. I have the colours in my head, think all over pearl oyster shell with accents of turquoise green sea.
Decorate ds' bedroom (last done 2 yes ago) in his favourite colours.
Decorate our bedroom and add new built in wardrobes, new cream carpet as ours is not so cream despite cleaning.

But the ones I'm desperate to finish is the den and adjoining dining room before winter so we have a play to snuggle and feel cosy.

unfortunately our most 'unloved' room is the room we actually spend the most time in - our living room! Because it is always in use, it never gets the chance to be revamped. It has not been redecorated in well over 10 years whilst the rest of the house has.

It now looks out of place with our fab B&Q kitchen, and all the bedrooms re-decorated and brought up to date.

But there never seems a convenient time to be able to do the living room. I think because there is so much to do too it puts us off even making a start. It needs the dado rails removing to match the rest of the house, a skim of plaster on walls and ceiling, new curtains and fire-surround - just don't know where to start!!!

It's our kitchen. We've done something with every other room in the house but left the kitchen to last. We both love cooking so are in there a lot and now we're in our 40s and have never had the kitchen we want yet. The people who owned the house before us put a new kitchen in so we lived with it but it's so depressing now and really needs sorting.

Always our bedroom - ends up a dumping ground. We are getting more storage for every room on our next move, trying to prevent this happening and to make our bedroom more relaxing.

The music/junk room. A large bedroom which is filled with musical equipment and junk!
