....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

yes it is great that ds's hearing loss is only mild, and yes you are right at least hearing aides these days are probably really great etc etc.

But, it is also fucking unfair.

There, that's all I wanted to say.

So if anyone wants a vent, scream or to say something that normally causes the person your talking to suddenly look embarrassed and leave the room, please feel free to say it here.

Why are some HV so dreadful? and how come the odd diamond gets through? The best HV we had was one who never had kids herself. She said 'so much on your plate' but with genuine respect. The 2nd best was had 4 small dc & said she worked to get a break from mothering.

To the lady on the bus who whispered "special needs" to the lady sitting next to her when my son was having a tantrum because his older brother was not letting him sit by the window: everyone heard you, and I'm sure there's a bonus point in it if you can guess the diagnosis! (Officially it's a speech delay)

Sorry, that made me really cross. Glad I can rant away here!

'He can do things when he wants to' , Ds's (usually good) psychologist.
Yes he can when:
it is the right thing
at the right time
in the right set up
when he is in the right mood
and he has had the right preparation.

He isn't just a bolshy teenager who can't be bothered.
