Sex with kids/teens in next room

Myself and dh have sex most nights but have a 12 yr old plus 2 other kids who like to stay up late over the holidays. Went through phase of sex maybe once a week but since dh has had a vascectomy and I have stopped the pill my sex drive has gone through the roof!

Finding it harder to have sex and we are both getting annoyed with kids. Have tried them going to bed earlier and us waking earlier but have no comfort knowing they could disturb us.

So wondering how people with older kids manage their sex life.
We don't have anyone that could take them over night for us .

Teens soon learn to put headphones in and stay away.

Children need the door locking.

Grin I've just told my teens this morning that they need to organise some outings with their friends instead of sitting staring at a screen all day and DS2 (15) said 'Why? Just 'cause you & Dad want some sexy times?' !!!!!

OMG! Dunno where he got THAT idea from!!

Ahem... Wrt my previous post, only do it on the sofa if you DON'T have leather sofas. Especially ones that creak.
It can apparently be heard over the noise of The Hobbit film being watched in a teenagers room..

Stop trying to do it at night, and wake up earlier than the kids do and do it then. Like 5.30 in the morning.

Yup, mornings are best.

Invest in a decent bed - we could trampoline on ours and it doesn't emit a sound :o

14 year old wakes up and puts his headphones on on the computer. 12 year old wakes up and goes straight down to play room fires on whatever dubious computer game he's into at that point......both happy not to be given any hassle about being on screen. We did however move No2 son from the bedroom that backs onto ours, to the one across the corridor - I figured if I could hear him turning about in his bed, he must have been able to hear us in ours!

Neither would think of ever coming into our bedroom and never have.

I don't think I'm desperate enough to get up at 5.30am .....

Bedrooms in our house are our own spaces
DH and I don't go into our children's rooms , they don't come into ours
We shut the bedroom door when we go to bed , there's no lock
Haven't been caught
Sometimes have to stop , though if we hear DS coming home ( he's 19 and driving ) and then get back to where we were
DD (17) used to sleepwalk , that was an interesting night ...

Invest in a lock. It saves that awkward conversation:

Mummy, what are you doing to Daddy?

I'm blowing him back up because he had gone flat!

Doing it while they're out doesn't always work once they're older teens/6th form. Even if you take time off work for the express purpose of an unfettered shagging session, the feckers can let themselves in with their key and be sat in the room underneath you grinning when you come downstairs.

I think 6th formers should have to stay at school when their teachers are ill Angry Blush but I never did manage to word a letter of complaint about that one. Grin

Term time is fine as the kids are usually asleep and in bed, but holidays...it's like Picadilly Circus around 10pm...

We've just been away and our hotel rooms were not adjoining. A terrible shame Wink...DH and I were 'exhausted' each evening and 'had' to turn in early!

This thread has reminded me of an interesting moment when I was a teenager. When I was about 14, I was at my friend's house for a sleepover. We had an air bed in the front room and when you were lying on it, you could see the wooden stairs above. They were like slats so you could see right through the spaces in between the steps. My friend's parents were obviously in the mood, they said goodnight and ran upstairs laughing and when her mum went up the stairs, we could see straight up her nightdress. She had nothing on underneath!! We also heard strange bed creaking noises. The sight of her mum's nether regions traumatised me at the time :p

I still cringe when I remember catching my parents dtd when I was a teen.
Once I walked into their bedroom after they had been out partying to see my dad on his knees with his head buried.
Second time I ran down the stairs to the garden to see them shagging on a sunbed on the patio!!!!

I've never turned on my heels so quickly.
I am scarred for life and this was 25 years ago.
