Would anyone be kind enough to vote on which of my shortlist for the new kitchen floor I should get?

Here are the three choices. Pictures of the unfinished kitchen are on my profile. High gloss white cupboards, walnut worktop, I think we are going for a kiwi green wall tile as a splashback. Need to decide soon as just want it finished...and the fitter is waiting in the wings.

classic pale stone

This is fairly mottled so good for disguising crumbs? also quite light coloured.

limestone cool

This one is very nice but very plain and pale, worried about the dirt showing...

sienna slate

This one is a good brown to go with the worktops, mid coloured and nicely mottled and textured so maybe would hide the crumbs a bit?

Arghh the is too difficult... I am wrestling with appearance v practialities

Any advice and opinions welcome.

Thanks fimbo for reminding me why I didn't go for the limestone ones. I actually got DS to stand on it with his shoes after a trip to the garden (no rain). Enough said.

My kitchen units are white with wood work tops and very very very stupidly have white floor tiles, which dh and I chose. Never ever again. It needs mopped every day sometimes more, although it does look lovely when everything is clean!

I usually go either 'calm' or 'warm' with colours.

yes that makes perfect sense

once i saw your wall paint colour i realised that you prefer warm colours and i prefer cool

i was recommedning cool grey/blues which are all wrong for you

although we agree on units and worktops i think , yours are fab

Yes Kristina I colour matched the tile colour with the dulux paint colour cards. (Dulux 'soft moss') The green is a 'warm' colour apparently so thought a warm colour on the floor would be good too.

So wall and floor tiles all ordered so hopefully by the end of Sept the kitchen will be finished

the enlarged photo of warm stone shows lots of pattern and colour variation, which i think will be much easier to keep clean than the flat plainer ones like limestone. and its quite a bit warmer too

For those of you who are interested I think
I have decided on warm stone for the tile and concrete putty for the grout lines.

I know this is not one of the initial choices but think this is the one which I will be happiest with for longest!

Natural hessian is quite beige, almost the same colour as the plaster but not quite as pink.

The charcoal slate is quite a blue grey, so although I would love a slate look I am not sure whether it will be too blue. It does look nice at night with the lights on.

charcoal slate looks lovely and a more practical colour than the paler tiles. how is it with your wall colour? on my monitor natural hessian looks more brown than neutral, but paint colours totally change on the wall

i bet the slate is fab with your dark wood worktops

OK ceramic chocolate now back down on the floor! Also a more grey slate tile charcoal slate

The ceramic chocolate is very nice. In your photos the kitchen looks quite cool-toned (well it does on my monitor anyway!) so I think the chocolate would be a good match.

Funnily enough Kristina I have that sample as well. I decided against it as it felt thinner plus it looked shiny and fake iyswim.

yeah, but at £50++ a square meter you dont want soemthing that you " don't dislike". You need to absolutely LURVE it. My kitchen floor is the nicest thing in it( apart from Dh at the kitchen sink of course).

You have a lovely big room and the flooring will be a big part of how it looks. get something WONDERFUL

I also have a sample of ceramic chocolate here I think I must have most of the spacia tile range here!

DH thinks it is too dark but I don't dislike it.

The tiles are the same colour green as a kiwi (hence the name I suppose), so not really lime green. I agree; think glass tiles will date and will also be too expensive! I can be persuaded away from the green. I also have a sample of the duck egg blue in the same range, which I like a bit more but DH not keen on it "too wishy washy".

I have a very similar kitchen and have tiles and they do look modern.Glass tiles are lovely too but will date.

is ceramic chocolate too dark for you? it might be too similar to the worktops.........

The sample we have though is darker than it looks online. Also the brown isn't such a good match to the worktop. (tone wise - not looking for an exact match iyswim)

i'd vote for the sienna too. it'll look lovely, very similar colour wise to our old kitchen at our old house. we didn't have green tiles but we did paint one wall a similar retro green.
