Off the shelf bifold doors?

I'm trying to save a bit of money in our build by sourcing some things myself (if possible) to try and shop around for a good deal.

We are having a relatively small set of bifold doors coming off the kitchen. Although I know aluminium is much better in terms of durability and thinness of frame, I'm now looking into uPVC to save money.

Has anyone ordered any of these doors off the shelf, and can you recommend any companies that are good? Any other advice/warnings you can give? The door we want will be about 2x2m, three panels

We were told uPVC bi-folds warp as well. Aluminium are more expensive but are better. And look better too.

I think we're going for three pane sliders, more glass, less frame. And still a big space as two of the three will slide.

I was quoted £2500 odd for 3.5 m aluminium bi folds by a local firm, you should be able to get them easily with your budget. Went for 3 pane sliders in the end for the same reason the above poster mentioned.....less frame. Bi fold just seem to be the latest trend. We live in England......

I believe upvc bifolds ard not good as they warp in warm weather.

we were going to use kloebers Euro fit standard size, which makes them a bit cheaper than bespoke sizes. changed our minds to a slide and pivot style but otherwise were going to stick with kloeber. threads on here about bifolds give you an idea of various companies, who to avoid etc. but cheapest may not always be best

try these bmbifoldingdoors.co.uk we are using them for our extension and are going fior 4m grey aluminium, they seem to be the cheapest by a long way as I have done a lot of research, hope this helps

Thanks, that is a good point.

We'd still like bifold if possible. Are there any good companies that do aluminium standard sizes that do a better price? We have £3500 in our budget for the door so would like to get this down. As it's going into a new extension we can alter the size slightly to fit the door

I've found some by Kloeber that seem good value, anyone got any experience?

you'd end up with more PVC than glass. French doors with glazed side panels might be better use of space?
