Sanderson dandelion clocks in John Lewis

We are redecorating the sitting room.

DH and I both really liked this print when we saw it last year and thought we would use it for curtains now we are redecorating.

However now it seems to be EVERYWHERE. We are buying a sofa from John Lewis too and I worry slightly that it is already a bit ubiquitous and we will just look like a window display.

Or is it just because I have noticed it and now notice everywhere.

Your thoughts please

I have an old lampshade in the clocks fabric but it is original design from the 50s given to me when I finished a job. It is virtually the same as the update and I do like it and wascgutted to see it everywhere.Go with what you love I do think it will age ok but maybe not a big piece. Having said that ter is a sofa in a cafe in town in clocks and it looks great

Ursula - can't you use the same fabric that those blinds you linked to are made from?

Dandelion Clocks was designed by Fiona Howard and she has some other lovely designs on her website here

None of them are quite as stand out lovely as the dandelion clocks though. Bet Sanderson have made a fortune from it, wonder what cut she got though?

Lurker I love you.

I showed the picture to DH and he fully accepted that we can't have Phil Mitchell's curtains.

Hurrah!

Was passing a DIY shop and noticed the Little Greene Paint Co's '50s inspired wallpaper collection amd thought of your post OP! I know you were looking at fabric but could you do plain blinds/curtains and a feature wall of wallpaper? (Also cheaper to change and update if you get bored of it!)

HERE

I do love the St Jude and Fiona Howard fabrics though. Think Marimekko might be too strong/bold for the sofa.

Hi Messy. I'm glad the link helped!

As a teenager I saved up my hard-earned Saturday job wages for a picture that I later saw on Gail from Corries living room wall. I've never really got over it Blush

How do we all feel about this one.

I would go for the aubergine but we already have aubergine in the bedroom so need something different.

Do you think it will be cosy enough, given we will mainly be using the room in the evening.

It's nice! Aubergine & that lovely green sofa would be just my cuppa tea though. You could go with some nice blues and greys and mustardy type accessories (I think?)

Arrrgh

I now know why I don't do interior design very often. I get panicked by choice.

Have just checked the John Lewis sofa and they now have a whole load of new colours including aubergine - which has the added advantage of being the colour of red wine!

But now I'm in a complete quandry and am going to skulk off and slap myself about at bit!

I am so out of touch with interiors - I only spotted this pattern in John Lewis on Saturday, thought it was lovely and started planning where to put it - nothing like it being everywhere to put you off. Still some great ideas on this thread to keep me on my toes - I'm loving the St Jude cushions.

Another one here who is gutted by the ubiquity of the lovely dandelion clocks. I do actually have a length of it, bought ages ago with the intention of making a curtain for the utility room.

Have now decided to use it in dd's room - you can get away with naff in a kid's room, can't you?

I really like those Little Greene wallpapers, particularly the lines one...
