Hair and body wash for secondary school boy

DS (11) is year 7. He's been using the all in one type of soap which can be used for hair and body since, well he was a baby. I was wondering when separate items such as shampoo for hair and body soap for body should be introduced, and whether he needs hair conditioner also. Basically, I am considering of replacing his babyish toiletries with something a bit less babyish...

I thought of getting 2 in 1 shampoo such as Wash and Go and shower gel, or all in one shampoo for hair and body such as Sanex Zero and hair conditioner, or just get all in one without hair conditioner (basically the same as now)...

What are your boys at the early secondary school age using for their hair and body wash? Any sharing thought and idea would be appreciated!

Afterall, I decided to keep his toiletry routine as simple as possible for now so just bought another top to tail bottle and leave in conditioner as an addition.

However, a quick trip to a hair salon the other day changed the plan (unexpectedly). The hairdresser explained the importance of using shampoo and conditioner and DS took the words so was willing to start using them (it always works when advice comes from someone other than a parent...).

Yesterday, we popped in Boots and he picked the Simple range. The hairdresser advised to get the products for men as DS has thick hair, but we decided to start with milder and gentler products as he also has very sensitive skin. Some popular brands are really bad and a way too strong...

Dh and I use soap (different types), dh has an anti dandruff shampoo, dd uses shower gel and also shampoo and conditioner for her very long hair. I have shampoo/conditioner for coloured/highlighted hair and ds uses 2 in 1 shampoo/ body wash for men

We just buy shower gel and shampoo for the family. No separate stuff for each person.

I am glad you have started this thread op I am trying to move my ds onto adult products instead of his baby shampoo/body wash. At the moment he uses aveeno shampoo and an aveeno body wash. He sometimes uses head and shoulders 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner.

Fat Face do a lovely selection of toiletries for men. My DS(20) uses their hair and body wash and it smells lovely, really fresh and clean.

Ds uses something like the imperial leather 2 in 1 shower and shampoo (men's version). There's a few others he uses too

Ds1 and his boyfriend and dd and ds2 all use lynx for bodywash and deodorant

they also just use different types of shampoo depending on hair type

We've got this top to tail thing at home. DS uses it for both hair and body, and DH and I use it for body. I have sensitive skin so I like the mildness of it.

I only start thinking of getting something for him as he's started boarding so he takes his own wash bag to school. I noticed some DCs at his school use gwon-up's products and many have shampoo rather than all in one. Just wondered how long he can keep using the top to tail thing, when/if he needs to start using more specific products like us grown-ups so shampoo for hair and also on.

DS doesn't care. He just uses whatever in the wash bag and probably try to use minimum products as possible (as he isn't used to use many products on him and also as he is rather impatient).

My ds is 10 and has started using Vosene shampoo, he’s prone to a dry itchy scalp. He likes Simple shower cream because it doesn’t irritate his skin, I also use that it’s lovely.

Our dc just use whatever we have in the shower, it’s never occurred to me to buy them anything different, beyond the usual Xmas and birthday gift set things that is.

Don’t have a ds but dd (12) and her group of friends like ted baker body washes and body spray. My nephews (11 & 10) also liked the Ted Baker gift pack I got them for Christmas.
Shampoo and conditioner just buy cheap own brand supermarket such as coconut or tea tree.
