I'm having a ELC on 4th October, I'll be 31+3. This pregnancy has been high risk from the start due to being twins but due to more complications; me and one baby, it's been stressful and heartbreaking. I won't go into too much detail and ramble on.

Here's the facts:
T1's has Oligohydramnios, started at 9 weeks. Always up and down.
T1's has SUA and severe IUGR diagnosed at 20 weeks.
T2 is healthy and estimated at 3lbs.
T1 is estimated at 1lb 5oz.
I had an Iron IV at 24 weeks.
Went into preterm labor on Monday. Had magnesium until Friday afternoon and steriods.
I have 4 other DC who are thankfully in school/nursery all week.

I'm struggling to deal with it all and have no idea what I should pack in my bag seeing as I won't be bringing them home. We've had a tour of the wards but it's not really helped.

What should I expect involvement wise. I want to use cloth diapers but no idea where to start for babies that small or even if they're allowed. I plan on calling the NICU but was hoping you lovelies with experience could lend me some tips and advice.

Sorry for the long post! Stuck in a hospital bed has left me nothing to do but think.

Wow how a year goes by. I cannot believe the twins are 1 and their due date birthday is next week!

Just a quick update to keep myself positive of my current situation.

Artie is a full blown walker. She explores everywhere and loves to chew on carrot sticks. She babbles and is very good at baby signing. She also said her first couple of words. Her health is perfect and is meeting all her actual age milestones.

Halo is doing well. He recently cut down on o2 and only has it when needed and when he sleeps. He's starting to smile and laugh more and he can finally sit (assisted) without slouching. He has gained all movement in his left leg and can now grasp things in his left hand and lift it. He sees a OT, PT and now a ST to help with weaning issues and speech (he doesn't babble).

Things with the twins are great :) x

Had my first scan today and worrying about having another preemie, feeling excited but quite nervous if I'm honest. Reading back through this thread to give myself some courage and realise how far my family have come. Can't believe how fast time has gone.

Hey, mama1980. I'd like to say we're doing well but things have been hectic lately. Halo has been very ill and is still in hospital. But Artie is doing amazingly well.

I update more on the thread, bankholiday has just posed a link to.

How is your little one?

Just a little update (mainly so I can see this thread on my "I'm on" list!)

Halo is currently in the process of being dx - they suspect SPD. He still has a leaky valve bur are holding off surgery until he's older. His PM is working perfect, he has a perfume intolerance and asthma as well as BPD. He's also still on the highest amount of home o2. His a very fussy baby but completely crazy and perfect :)

Artie has caught up to her actual age and is even officially crawling - there's no stopping her. She has been officially signed off from two specialists and we are thinking of starting to wean her in a couple of months :)

Hey Poppet, things are crazy and stressful but a routine is starting to fall in place. Apollo has a chest infection and was in hospital overnight but he's home now and currently sleeping. Hoping March will be the month things settle down! :)

I haven't felt this sleep deprived since the boys came along and dd1 was having daily night terrors.

I'm running on empty but I expected that with a high needs baby. Trying to get the hang of his meds and trying to inticipate what sets of his sensory triggers - is very hard and frustrating at times.

The other DC are adjusting so well and are being as good as gold minus a few tantrums so that makes it a little easier and DH when not at work is massive help during the night but sleep eludes us!

However, they are completely worth it! I am so in love with them! X

Thank you, Shiv! I thought he would be too but they seem to think he's well enough and strong enough to come home, originally they thought he would be in until June! But he proved them wrong :)

He will eventually need one possibly two more surgerys before the end of the year.

How is little Oli doing? It's lovely to hear from you.

Crikey multiplemama, I've been off the board for a little while and look at you! At home!
I remember reading your thread early on and thinking this little one will be in hospital longer than my Oliver, but he wasn't! Well done. Xx

We have a discharge time! He will be discharged at 3pm tomorrow! Cannot pick him up today until 1pm due to Doctor's round and quiet time. We have to go back to the hospital in the morning which is pretty silly but we have to fill out more forms and get his files and meds, then they want him hooked up to monitors until he's discharged.

Excited!!! :)
