Still being sick at 14 weeks - more likely girl than boy?

I'm still suffering badly with nausea and sickness at 14 weeks. Most people I talk to who've been in the same boat seem to have had girls so, just for a bit of fun really, wanted to ask if this was the same for anyone on here.

DH is desperate for a boy so he's not enjoying this old wives' tale too much 😂

I only have 3 DDs and my first pregnancy was the worst for morning sickness - multiple vomiting every day from week 6 until the day I gave birth - despite the other two being a twin pregnancy and that's supposed to be worse. The nausea completely wore off by about week 18 with them.

Sorry. I wrote the same sentence twice. That's the menopause coming. At least morning sickness goes away. This menopause shit's here to stay for a while. Got a nice migraine coming on as I type. Yay! I'd swap for morning sickness. Grin

I had the same patterns of sickness with all 3 of mine.
I had the same pattern of morning sickness with all 3 of mine. Morning sickness was worse at night and still going strong at 14 weeks, coming to an end around 15-16 weeks.
2 DSs and 1 DD
The only difference I noticed was that my mental health was great with my boys and not so great with DD (though I was under an avalanche of stress at work while pregnant with her, so probably stress-related more than anything else).

The sex of the baby doesn’t affect your sickness levels at all I’m afraid. It’s a total myth which is perpetuated because people are, of course, right 50% of the time.

The only thing that does seem to follow a pattern is that you are often sicker with your first. Personally I think this is a matter of perception because you’ve never been pregnant before and don’t know what to expect. Plus there’s all the excitement of your first time and then the shock of something so precious making you feel so ill!

Subsequent pregnancies I think you’re more used to it.

There have been some scientific studies that correlate pregnancy sickness with female foetuses. The effect is small though so I wouldn't buy any pink dresses yet. Personally Ive had less nausea with daughter than my son (but it's my second pregnancy so I've had less symptoms generally).

Thank you - I love all of your replies!! Except the ones that make me think this sickness isn't guaranteed to go away any time soon, or at all....! x

I had very little sickness with DS but I was terribly ill with DD which was why I wasn't surprised when i had my second scan to find out I was having a girl.

The sickness was so awful I'm glad she was my last child. I'm not sure could've done it a second time!

I have one of each. Both of my pregnancies were exactly the same. I wasn’t sick a single time with either of them but get extremely nauseous for exactly 12 weeks.

Haha nope! I had HG my whole pregnancy with my first son. And was sick twice a day until 16 weeks with my second son!
