Pregnancy

feel so ill :( don't know what to eat

Please any advice!! I am 7 weeks and feeling dreadful- had nothing like this with ds1.
I just feel so nauseous from the minute I open my eyes to the time I go to bed.
I absolutely have to eat every 2 hours, or I start to feel even worse, yet my digestive system has slowed down to the point where food just sits like a lump of concrete in my stomach Sad.
Nothing is appealing apart from fizzy drinks, which seem to take the edge off things.

I'm struggling to sleep if I eat after 6pm at the latest, because I feel so hideously full. I am SO constipated too.

Any advice on how to feel better would be so gratefully received!!

Don't worry Ruth, my house has now not been cleaned for 3 whole months, washing hasn't been done and I haven't cooked a meal for the same length of time.

I feel the same way about people who say pregnancy isn't an illness. What do you call someone who is sick three times a day and can't move after 4pm? Sounds pretty ill to me.
Hang on in there I'm 15 weeks and it's not too bad now until 5pm

I am feeling very rough, around 9 weeks at moment. I remember being bad with my 1st but not this bad. Its harder now I have a toddler, struggling to get out of bed most days. Have had uti and been given anti nausea tablets but struggle to take them as make me too drowsy to look after my lb. Luckily he is easy going and just generally plays while I lay there. Hubby is very supportive thankfully. If someone said pregnancy is not an illness at the moment I would probably kill them haha. Really struggling day to day, feel guilty for not doing much with my lb. The house is a complete mess, just no energy to do anything at all. Only just managing to feed little one. Can't wait for this to be over.

Not read TFT but best by far for constipation is Movicol. You can by over the counter or your GP can prescribe. It's gentler than Lactulose IME and won't make you as windy or urgent IYSWIM. Ask for the non-flavoured sachets if possible. Laxido is essentially the same thing but the fake citrus flavour is grim IMO.

Hopefully it will pass soon penelope. Last time I was horrified at how bad how felt so soon! People don't tell you about this bit do they? Really wasnt expecting it.

One of the things I'm struggling with atm is that I know it lasted til 15/16 weeks last time, and this time I have an 11 month old ds to look after. He doesn't stop.

Bizarrely I couldn't stomach chocolate or carrots last time!

Oh I agree with the eating all the time thing! I'm a teacher and scoffing digestives between lessons. I had no idea what the nausea would be like at all.

I've hit 12 weeks and not much improvement, I'm struggling to lie down and sleep without heaving. I feel so bloated and full all the time.

Also I've gone right off meat. I hate big chunks of it and now live on veg, fruit and cheese.

The key thing is learning how to manage it. Last time I couldn't leave the house without food and drink.
I'm the same this time, bit it took me weeks last time to work out what worked.

I had to drink a LOT of water. Eat literally every hour or two. If I didn't eat for a while I felt so much worse and then couldn't eat.

It eased for me at 15/16 weeks. I was so disappointed that I didn't feel better at 12weeks like everyone said I would.

This is brilliant. I am 8 Weeks today, currently on a 2 week holiday where they serve curry every single night....vom! Have spent the last 12 days eating TUC biscuits Sad the only food I can find in the hotel shop and surrounding areas apart from chocolate. I miss English grub so much. Roll on tomorrow for the flight home. I'm so hungry.

Glad to have founded this. Ivebeen feeling shocking for over a week, tired and sick with an upset tummy. Friend asked if I could be pregnant. And yes I am! Took a test this morning and hey presto.

Ds is 11 months so really struggling with the tired and sick feelings, even more so now I realise it will last at least another couple of months. Had forgotten what I ate last time, but remember it was little and often.

I had hyperemesis with my second pregnancy. Bloody awful.

From weeks 7-14 I could pretty much ONLY keep down:

  • Small handfuls of hula hoops or potato square crisps (basically, dry/non greasy and plain crisps)
  • 1 or 2 rich tea biscuits
  • Sips of ice cold, full fat coke
  • Lemonade ice lollies / lemon sorbet
  • Small amounts of not-too-creamy mashed potato with salt and pepper
  • small bowls of crunchy nut cornflakes with ice cold, semi skimmed milk

Weeks 14-26-ish I was able to eat a small meal once a day, but it HAD to be a kids size portion of a roast chicken dinner but with very little meat.

Week 26 it lifted. Phew.

Feeling your pain!

I don't know what to do. I was in the bath and the smell of the bath and body wash made me sick 3 times and then I went to moisturise and the smell of that made me sick too! Smells set me off and even the thought of food makes me sick. I can't keep down any fluids. I'm a wreck. I'm confused aswell as I swear I am feeling movements in my tummy xx

Hi debelynne it's awful isn't itSad. Today has been my worst yet. I've just told dp that I've never felt so unwell in my life, and I actually mean it. Praying that this eases off in a few weeks.

Hi all,I'm new to this. As far as I'm aware from my dates I'm 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Had sickness all day everyday for last 9 days. I'm exhausted and feel so weak! This is my third baby and I wasn't this poorly this soon with my other two.xx

My diet at the moment is entirely cheese and pickle sandwiches, beans on toast, oven chips and crunchy nut cornflakes. Oh, and oddly I really want watermelon all the time.

I am the same 7 weeks and wandering around listlessly and feeling sick when I look at food. I've been eating junk food. I'm struggling because I'm lactose and wheat intolerant so I have very little food I can eat right now. I haven't eaten a hot meal for few days.Confused

MacDonalds fries here. There were times when they were all I could face eating

Report
Lules · 23/06/2016 08:25

I can't remember being tired with them - but they cut down me being sick during the night so I would have slept better anyway.

Seriously take the drugs! I had cyclzine when I was pregnant and it helped a lot. And if it doesn't, then go back and ask for something else. There really is no point in suffering - they wouldn't give you the drugs if they weren't safe and tonnes of women take them

Absolute worst days full fat flat lemonade. Jelly is good. Like pp try and get to your GP. Support for hyperemisis has improved between my 1st and 2nd pregnancy.
