Hi Ladies,
I've worried myself sick this morning as I was due to have my ovaries scanned. I'm currently 13w+1 and was treated for breast cancer a year ago. At my nuchal scan last week the sonographer told me that I have a cyst on my right ovary which I assumed is normal from the ovulation. She said however it is larger than normal. Knowing that breast and ovarian cancers are very good friends I obviously was very concerned and spoke to my consultant who immediately referred me to an ovaries scan.
Thank god, the doc said it looks benign and although it is bigger than it should be at this stage of pregnancy (it's has grown a little bit since my 5wk scan), he still expects it to go away by itself and proposed to take another look at it in 4-6 weeks. Even though I'm hugely relieved it does not look malignant and it is not giving me any symptoms, I am wondering if anyone else had ovarian cysts past the first trimester and what the outcome was??
