Holy shit! This can't happen, can it?!

I'm still a bit in shock so sorry if I ramble.

I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks, showed a viable pregnancy with a heartbeat in my right horn ( bicornulate uterus with septum).

As I have a dodgy womb I was scanned and also 3d scanned by the consultant, everything looked normal.

I have just had another scan at 8 weeks, healthy 8 week old baby....and a 5 week pregnancy sack in my left horn!

I appear to have gotten pregnant, twice, at different times. Apparently this has only happened to 11 people before.

And it add another complication in to the mix a THIRD possible pregnancy was spotted, but it could be a fibroid or a molar pregnancy ( bit of a difference!) so have to see the consultant again in 9 days.

My heads spinning, I need vodka, but I guess I'll just have to settle for baileys cheesecake Grin

Don't suppose anyone knows anything about this? Or if one of the 11 people are on here that would be great!

How exciting! I've heard if this before but in fear it may only have been from Grey's Anatomy, that well-known source of factual medical knowledge. Good luck next week.

I was actually relieved, but thanks for the thought and flowers! And the midwife told me that a b placenta is very very rare. POssibly not as rare as what you're potentially doing! Fingers crossed it all goes well!

Thanks all Grin I will keep you posted on Thursday.

Red that's terrible I'm very sorry. Thanks

But the consultant doesn't seem to think its that. He said he couldn't understand it because if it was a failed pregnancy sac it should have been there and visible at the 5, 6, 7 week scans, but would have just stopped growing. But it only became visible at the 8 week scan.

He's fairly convinced they couldn't have missed it before, especially with the 3d scans ( they wanted to get a good look at my exact womb shape.

Having said that and after researching vanishing twin and how impossible what's happened is supposed to be I am now so worried they got it wrong. I haven't been able to find a vanishing twin story yet with a sac that doesn't appear for weeks first, just seems to be people that were scanned once and it was missed.

Oh well. Trying not to think about it until Thursday! Wish me luck Grin
