The One and Only Tea Room - Now Hanging in Babylon

Well folks, here we are, transported through time and space to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

Golden couches and the distressed chintz sofa are arranged on a terrace overlooking the Euphrates and, as we recline on the exquisitely-soft cushions eating peeled grapes, we can enjoy the warm fragrance of the gardens' many exotic blooms. The garden is tended by the indefatigable Mellors, with occasional help from the bishops, rabbis and any passing world leaders. Somewhere behind the terrace there is an aga and a priest's hole, with optional massage table.

Please come and join us for a celebratory drink and conversation ranging from the profound to the profoundly silly.

Just dashing out to ballet (Girl's, not mine, obviously) but wanted to invite Jacksmania - and anyone else who's interested - onto the My garden makes me so happy thread. It's like Gardeners Anonymous on there - we're all addicts sharing stories of our addiction (with no disrespect intended to people with real addiction issues).

Evening all.

LCT had his first Oreo today. He wasn't sure he liked the taste but the cream smeared over his face very nicely! Grin

I'd better stay away from your thread Maud, I have a black thumb. I even look at a live plant and it withers and dies. Hmm maybe a house with a garden is a bad idea...

Ballet was lovely. I proof-read a report and wasn't too distracted by the two boys fighting and jumping off the furniture. As they do every week. Sigh.

It's not my thread, Tee, but just as we've invaded the adoption tea room I thought some here might want to join the happy gardeners' thread too!

Wine?

The ice cream truck is evil. Didn't wake TS up tonight he was still awake, helping me make dinner but it still made him cry.

TS had already eaten and was playing when I started dinner for MrScout and me. So TS helped make meatloaf and thoroughly enjoyed stirring.

Onion chutney (for camp) made.

Anyone know if I'd be able to get the smell out of a red wine vinegar bottle?

Tee, how's LCT feeling?

amber, how are you feeling? Did you stay in your chair/s today?

Encore, encore Maud!

Bicarbonate of soda in a bit of warm water should get rid of all smells. Couple of teaspoons should do the trick

Thanks!

Who's taking us to Ireland?

Dunno- never been. SO have only stereotypical picture postcard images of Irish country pubs to go by. Mind you, that may be good enough for the one and only tea room of requirement.
