At the same time as giving their feedback on this thread, testers completed a survey on their experience of testing the Morrisons nappies with their child.

84% would recommend the New Baby Nappies, 83% would recommend the Ultra Dry Nappies and 85% would recommend the Ultra Dry Pants to a friend or family member, therefore Morrisons Nutmeg nappies and pants have been awarded the Mumsnet Rated badge.

This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who have been testing nappies or pull up pants from the Morrisons ‘Nutmeg’ range.

Testers trialled Nutmeg New Baby Nappies, Nutmeg Ultra Dry Nappies or Nutmeg Ultra Dry Pants.

We tested the size 2 newborn nappies.
The nappies unfortunately leaked twice during the daytime.
They were maybe slightly smaller than I would expect around the waist for size 2.
I felt that the babies bottom was dry and the wee was wicked away.

1. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?

I liked the elastic around the leg as it was not too tight and I liked the extra fabric there to show that the trim was on the outside. I also liked that it did not smell chemically as some synthetic nappies do.

Baby but did not cry anymore than usual.

1. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

I would have expected it to have a leak colour change indicator as its for newborns. Also I would add an extra band around the top of the nappy to prevent leaks.

Unfortunately no as they leaked and there are other supermarket own brands which I have preferred.

We tested the newborn nappies. The fit is slightly tighter than Pampers ones we currently use and they look a bit smaller on the bottom. There were only a couple of leakages after a big poo, so not too bad.

Being a newborn size, I would probably make them slightly longer at the bottom, similar to Pampers newborn size.

We tested size 3 ultra dry nappies. The fit was perfect, plenty of give around my sons waist..no issues there. Skin dryness wasn’t perfect but not a disaster although he couldn’t wear these for more than 3-4 hours at a time. He slept for 6 hours During the night and they leaked!

We liked the neutral design on the nappy but also the fit, they were perfect and when changing there were no marks on his legs or waist.

My little boys is just 4 months but he never complained about the nappy unless it was ‘full’. He had no reaction on his kin which I am very pleased with.

Absorbency, the nappies leaked on more than one occasion. I also found them really spongy when wet which I wasn’t keen on.

Because of the leaking I probably wouldn’t recommend at this stage, this is what it down for me.

Ultra dry pants size 4, was a good fit, no leaks, didn't irritate her skin anymore than it already is (eczema)

I tested the size 6 nappies. Fit was good, nice and stretchy and they are quite thin so not too bulky under clothes. No leakage during the day but there was a bit at night. When I walked into her room in the morning I could smell wee and her pjs were slightly damp. She is a heavy wetter though. Skin dryness was good except on that one night.

We tried the pants and they performed brilliantly. No complaints at all from me or my little boy! They fitted him nicely, were comfortable for him and they didn't leak. They helped keep him dry too and he didn't have any skin reactions which he has done in the past.

We tested the Size 5 Ultra Dry Nappies. The nappies were soft and dry touch, no leakage problems either. However, I found the fit a little narrow and not as generous as our usual nappies and definitely wouldn’t last as long between sizes in the future.

Size 6 Ultra Dry nappies. They fitted well with no leaks and the skin felt dry when changing.

We tested the New Baby Nappies. Overall I was really pleased with these nappies, DS appeared to be comfy and dry and we didn’t experience any leakage. I used Pampers with DC1 just because that was the best known brand. These are definitely comparable, if not better.

They didn’t feel bulky when changing DS as I’ve found with some other brands. They were soft and I’m assuming as a supermarket brand that I’ll like the price point in comparison to our usual pampers.

I’m assuming he felt comfortable and dry. At 5 weeks it’s hard for him to tell me 😂

I thought they felt slightly narrow when I was changing DS so maybe a slightly wider fit? Having said that we didn’t have any leaks and DS seemed comfy enough.

Yes definitely. They were comfy and dry for DS. Will be switching from Pampers.

We tested the Nutmeg Baby Size 2 nappies and the overall fit was very comfortable on my baby and there was no leakage at all. Sometimes with other brands I have experienced leakage but not with these. The skin around the area was kept nice and dry too.

I liked that they were just the right fit for my baby and every time I changed her I didn’t expect to see any leakage.

Newborn size 2, the fit was very snug considering my baby is only just going in to size 2 Nappies.

We tested size 4 pants. Fitted really well- easy to get on. Kept baby dry over night. No issues.

1. I tested the nappy pants in size 4. The nappies performed really well, no leaks at all day or night. My daughter didn’t experience any skin dryness while wearing them.

The first thing I noticed was how lovely and soft they were, softer than other nappy brands I’ve tried. They were also nice and stretchy too. I felt that the sticker on the back to wrap them when dirty was longer and better at sticking than a leading brand I’d tried.

We tried size 4 pants.
They fit well covering what was needed without going too high up his back. They were a little narrow on his bum but he is at the upper end of size 4 so this wouldn't have been a problem a couple of months ago.
Even with the narrow fit we had no leaks.
The nappies are soft and we had no problems with irritation or nappy rash.

I liked that they were thin but still very absorbent. They were soft and felt nice and the tab on the back is handy and missing from some of the other supermarket own brands we have tried.

To prevent leaks during the night. My DS will get into his night nappy at around 7/7:30pm and I will change this nappy when he wakes up properly between 0630 and 0800. The leaks during the test period were disappointing.

I would absolutely recommend for daytime use. I would buy this for my DS simply for the convenience and ease (10/10) during the daytime and obviously avoid using at night.

Size 4 Nappy pants.
They fit well enough during the day but I did wonder if it was more a problem with the fit during the night as we couldn't manage a night leak-free. My 14month old will sleep through the night and we had 4nights of waking up with leaks.
We had no leaks during the day and no issues with skin dryness.

They were great during the day because my 14month old has started taking off his regular nappies (pulling off the sticky tabs) when he's not wearing a vest/trousers. And he wriggles free during the usual nappy changes so the Nappy Pants were quick to put on. This was a Huge bonus!

They were very soft.

I’m not sure what size they are- I asked for size 5 and got sent ‘XL’! They were a bit big, but quite absorbent. They were fine for daytime use but I didn’t test them at night as they were too big on the legs so I knew they would leak. Dryness around nappy area was good- I.e stayed dry.

Not sure they even were Nutmeg nappies.. but they were quite absorbent.

Again, not sure what I was sent actually were Nutmeg nappies- there was no brand name on them and they don’t look like the normal Nutmeg designs. See attached photos.
