At the same time as giving their feedback on this thread, testers completed a survey on their experience of testing the Morrisons nappies with their child.

84% would recommend the New Baby Nappies, 83% would recommend the Ultra Dry Nappies and 85% would recommend the Ultra Dry Pants to a friend or family member, therefore Morrisons Nutmeg nappies and pants have been awarded the Mumsnet Rated badge.

This is the feedback thread for the Mumsnet users who have been testing nappies or pull up pants from the Morrisons ‘Nutmeg’ range.

Testers trialled Nutmeg New Baby Nappies, Nutmeg Ultra Dry Nappies or Nutmeg Ultra Dry Pants.

I tested the nappy pants and was relatively happy with all aspects. Never suffered any leaks or wet skin.

Would probably recommend for the price, and would use again over any other supermarket nappy pants that I’ve tried. But for me they just don’t beat my usual brand.

We tried the Nutmeg Size 6 nappies. Fit was reasonable, however once urine was in them they seemed to droop more than our current regular brand.

We liked that when clean, they’re not too bulky and fairly snug.

We noticed that he would tug at the nappies more than his usual brand. He also came out in a rash.

Try to find a way of making them less bulgy and saggy as this happened even with a slight urination.

Yes for the snug fit, but would warn about sagginess after only a short time.

I thought they came up smaller than the pants I usually use, but saying that we didn't have any issues with leaks. I only used them in the day, so can't comment on how they'd perform over night. Skin seemed dry and there was no reaction from my daughter.

1. Nutmeg Ultra Dry Nappies size 6. They fit as well as other supermarket brands in size 6 and are actually the same size as most of them. Like the rest they leak overnight so I use 6+ nappies for night-time. My DD often has explosive poos and she leaked. However, she has leaked with all the other brands we use if she does an explosive poo. She has no problems with dryness.
   

1. As I have used own brand nappies from a wide range of retailers nothing about them stood out to me. This is actually a good thing as there are a couple of retailers whose nappies that leak under normal daytime circumstances.
   

1. She made no comment so I don't suppose she noticed that she was wearing yet another different brand of nappy. She is 23 months but vocal and does sometimes notice the pictures on her nappies.
   

1. I would probably put a different design or two on the actual nappies, plus change the colours of the faces. The design currently on them is very pink and pastel so isn't noticeable to a parent or toddler.

We tested the Ultra Dry Pants in size 6. They fit really well, with other pull ups we've tried there have been issues with one or both bum cheeks hanging out even when sizing up and then we end up with leaks but this wasn't the case here. No leaks whatsoever and no skin problems.

2. What did you like about the Nutmeg nappies?
They had a nice feel to them with a soft, stretchy waistband. I liked that they didn't leak and I like the price of them.

3. How did your child feel wearing the Nutmeg nappies?
She doesn't really have an opinion on them, she seemed comfortable wearing them and was happy to put them on with no fighting about it.

4. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?
Add some larger sizes to the range. They stop at size 6 which fit my daughter at the moment but when she outgrows them we won't be able to continue using them as there is no size 7 or 8.

5. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?
If it came up in conversation then I probably would, yes.

We tested size 2 newborn nappies. I liked the fitted back - this made the nappies fit really snuggly and made ‘poo up the back’ incidents less likely, however, my DD wees like a horse and we had leak when we tried to go all night without a change (11pm - 6am).

I like the fitted shape and the fact they were quite plain - a lot of nappies use a lot of colours and i wonder if they could irritate delicate skin? It was easy to see which way round they went. They also folded up small so took up less room than pampers in the change bag.

Happy - they fitted well with it being too tight on the tummy (she has wind issues and can be quite bloated). Shame about leak but otherwise she was happy

Not sure / I like the fit bit I’ll be sticking to pampers over night. Maybe I might get the odd packet for day time use only.

Newborn size 2. I used them on my 15 week old and the fit was great on him. They kept him very dry and he's had no problems with nappy rash or sore skin in the nappy area.

Loved the fit and the reliability of these nappies, they felt soft yet strong.

He's a bit young to tell me but he seemed very comfortable in them.

Maybe jazz the outer cover up a bit? I am a user of reusable nappies too and love the designs that the covers come in, I'd like to see disposables with similar covers.

5. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?

I would and do. I am a foster mum and I recommend Nutmeg nappies on our Facebook page to anyone who asks about newborn, and beyond, nappies. I have now started using Nutmeg size 4+ on my 9 month old and am very happy with those too especially as his previous brand leaked repeatedly and Nutmeg don't.

We tested the size 5 pants. I liked that they came up high on the tummy but they felt a little narrow over her bottom. We only wear nappies at night so can't speak for daytime's. However, at night we had a few leaks. Not sure if this is because they were narrow or because we normally go for a 5+.

I liked the tab on the back for securing them when used, you normally only get this on the more expensive brands. Nice, unisex design too.

They said they were comfortable and liked the picture on them.

Slightly wider for more coverage across the bum to avoid leaks. And to have them available in + sizes.

I used size 2 nappies and they were very good and compared highly to those of the leading brands. The fit was great which stopped leakage and my son's skin was not affected by this (he has eczema)

They were easy to use and held everything which I was very surprised at.

We tried the ultra dry pants, the fit was brilliant. My Ds is potty trained but wet at night and we had been using nappies at night as the other pants we had tried had leaked, these were brilliant.

The fit, DS seemed comfy in them, also the tag at the back which allowed you to neatly wrap the used nappy up to dispose of.

We tested the Ultra dry size 6 nappies. They fit both my tall slim 2 year old and my stockier 3 year old. No leakage at all and both children seemed quite dry.

Both of them only wear a nappy at night and usually use pull up pants. The 3 year old was a bit reluctant to use tabbed nappies again but liked the feel of them (and that they were pink) so agreed. We will probably buy the pants in the future off the back of this.

We had been having problems with the 2 year old pulling pants off so the tabs have helped stop them doing that, they weren't hugely pleased about that but we were!

4. If you could change or improve anything about the Nutmeg nappies, what would that be and why?

We got a set of pink ones, not sure if they come in other colours but may be an issue for people who are funny about putting pink on boys if they don't. Not a problem for us though...

5. Would you recommend the Nutmeg nappies to others?

Yes, and it's another reason why I'm going to be switching my main weekly shopping over from ASDA to Morrison's from now on.

We tested the newborn size 2, they were very absorbent and kept my little boy dry with no leaks. The fit was a little wide across the crotch but this possibly added to the protection and didn’t appear to be uncomfortable.

The absorbency was great, we had no leaks whereas we had with other brands.

We were lucky enough to try the nutmeg ultra dry pants size 4 for DS 15 months.
We are religious pampers users due to every other brand causing my son to break out in a rash.
I have to say we have been using these for just under a week and so far so good.
The pants are just as good as the competitive brands and we have encountered no leaks so far. They have kept my little one dry throughout the night which has prevented the dreaded nappy rash we have encountered in the past.

We particularly liked the simple design and the fact they are extremely similar to our usual brand. They fit extremely well and have a double cuff around the legs which means they are super good at preventing leaks which is great considering how active toddlers are.

My little one has had no issues with wearing these however he is too young to provide an opinion lol

Honestly I don’t think I would change anything about them. Maybe add a few colourful images to appeal to the younger audience but that is merely cosmetic.

Overall I am thoroughly impressed with these pants and would highly recommend them to others. They are just as good as the leading brand but at a fraction of the price. I have already stocked up and more 😊

Nutmeg nappies size 5. They performed ok during the day but seemed to get very full and heavy a lot quicker than the nappies we normally buy and they have leaked overnight on a couple of occasions. On the plus side they fit well and feel nice and soft.

They leaked more frequently that my current brand of nappies and my son woke up earlier than he normally would due to feeling wet.

I think they just need to be more absorbent. The nappies I normally use never leak at night and these have on a couple of occasions in the last week.

Size 2 Ultra dry nappies. We had no leaks in these, they even contained one of our sons ‘poonami’ incidents which I was very impressed with! Performed well overnight too. Kept his skin in good condition, no rash or anything. The only slight issue i had was the waistband seemed a touch on the small side compared to our usual brand but no real problem, baby seemed happy and comfortable all the same.

I tested the Newborn nappies. I was happy with the fit as well as the amount of leakage. I think they kept my baby fairly dry too.

Well, she's only 6 weeks old so couldn't exactly tell me (!!) but she seemed comfy enough. I think they could perhaps have been a bit softer.

I would make them a little softer as they did perhaps feel slightly rough compared with other nappies I've tried (though perhaps that's why they're so absorbant?).

I wouldn't specifically recommend them, as I didn't find anything particularly remarkable about them. However they are perfectly fine nappies and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them (or recommend them) if I was in Morrisons and needed nappies. I just wouldn't go out of my way to buy them.

   We tried size 4 nappy pants. They fit really well and had no leakage even over overnight period (12hr+). Skin was dry and comfortable.

Like the tab to stick wet/dirty nappies together and easy to tear seams

In my own words:
These are good nappy pants and wereally like them.
Soft and absorbent. Seems to be three main absorbent channels and they keep the wee contained and bottoms dry. The seams are easily teared for easy changes and they have the tab to stick them together when wet/dirty which many supermarket brands are missing but very very useful.
Stretchy but comfortable and good fit even after 12hr night. No leaks.
Fits snugly and comfortably around legs and tummy and not too tight despite being on a chunky baby. Baby also free to move comfortably/normally too. Also good for around bum cheeks which some brands aren’t.
Not a fan of the plain and boring pattern. Can’t explain to baby what it is (no stars, elephants, rainbows or different colours/shapes etc to talk about and very boring).

We used the pants for my 6 yr old for nighttime. I was really impressed with these! They fitted well, no leaks at all and she stayed dry all night.

1. How did your child feel wearing the Nutmeg nappies? These were an absolute hit. DD has sensory issues so texture and fit is important. If something isn't "right" she can't wear it. Unlike some of the other supermarket own brands these are lovely and soft.
