Gousto has asked us to find 100 Mumsnetters to test one of their recipe boxes. Testers will be sent a family box of four meals (for four people) to try out with their family and will then be asked to leave feedback on a thread on Mumsnet. Two of the four meals selected will be recipes from a new family-friendly range launched in partnership with Annabel Karmel.

Here’s what Timo Boldt, CEO and Founder of Gousto says: “For people who want to cook and enjoy good food together but don’t always have the time, ingredients or know-how to do it well, Gousto delivers simple ways to (re) discover the joys of cooking, so you can choose what you want, cook it with confidence and enjoy sharing it with others.

Taking the hassle out of planning, shopping and cooking, Gousto delivers up to 4 meals for the week with the ingredients and recipe ready to make, so there’s no more ‘what’s for dinner’ panic.

This month, we’ve launched a 3-month partnership with family cooking expert, Annabel Karmel to introduce 20 additional family-friendly recipes to our menu. Supporting busy families with tried-and-tested, nutritionally balanced meals, proven to suit fussy eaters, including Heavenly Hidden Veg Bolognese and Mouthwatering Veggie Mac & Cheese – the new recipes will allow you to enjoy cooking dishes which suit everyone around the dinner table.

Each recipe uses Gousto’s fresh, quality ingredients – including 100% British meat, sustainable fish and free-range eggs from trusted suppliers – allowing you to know what’s in every meal and feel confident you’re feeding your family well.”

If selected, you’ll be given a unique discount code to place an order for a box (free of charge). Gousto is a subscription service, so testers will be required to create an account. However, Gousto’s customer care team will prevent the subscription from continuing automatically. You’ll then need to test the recipe box as a part of your daily routine and give your feedback on a thread on Mumsnet.

Testing will be for orders placed on the Gousto website on 10th October or 23rd October, with deliveries taking place between the 14th or 27th October. Please only sign up if you’re available to test at this time.

Please click here to apply.

All selected testers who give the required feedback will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Would love the opportunity to test Gousto box I have heard of them but never had the opportunity to try one for my family. My baby is just starting to eat proper solid food so would be great for him to explore some new tastes and textures he wouldn't have had the opportunity to try before. Keeping our fingers crossed thank you 💙🤞🍀

Jkrgjg I don't think many of the recipes will be any good for a weaning baby. There is a lot of honey, soy sauce, added sugar and general pre-made sauces / marinades.

Even the current Annabel Karmel recipe (sticky salmon and rice) isn't at all suitable for under 12 months. To serve 4 it contains 64mls of soy sauce and 50g of honey. Both of which must absolutely not be served to under 12 months old. And the 50g of Chilli Jam and 60ml of Tom Ketchup would be considered undesirable by most people.

Personally I wouldn't serve soy sauce or farmed salmon to under 4s either.

I can't stand AK. I don't think her meals are particularly good for very young children at all. As a big Gousto fan I'm disappointed they couldn't find someone better to partner with.

@MrsMerryFestive thank you for your reply I didn't know what would be included as I have never had the opportunity to test one before. But thank you very much for letting me know and I will definitely if chosen only be giving the food for us to try and baby can have something else lol. Thanks again Jess :-)

Mumsnet HQ, do you know if there will be any more AK recipes put up today? Should we wait until this afternoon before ordering to see if more get put up?

@Moodykat & @KikisDeliveryService

Please feel free to order at any time today - if you select a delivery date of between the 14th and 17th October this should mean that there is two Annabel Karmel recipes available.

Thanks

I’ve put stuff in the box which came to £47.00 which was subtracted when I put in the code. However it will not accept my debit card details at all. Have checked and double checked that these are correct....they are. It just won’t accept them though. Any advice?

Thank you for being picked.
I have ordered. No problems.
Delivery on Tuesday. As requested.

I will give feedback on the thread, once it’s up and running.

But just to remind myself:

1)Found the whole website and ordering generally extremely easy.
2)was very shocked there was only 1 Annabel Karmel recipe and wouldn’t of chosen this personally because it was fish, but had to order this, as requested by MN. 3)was very surprised that there were so few recipes to choose from. There only seemed to be about 15.
DH and I sat there and looked through all of them and were quite un-inspired and unimpressed and agreed that we normally cook most of those kind of things anyway. so maybe were not the target audience!!
4) was then quite surprised I only got to order 4 dishes (thought it was a box for the week, so would get to chose 7 dishes) and was shocked at the price of £47.75 - thought to myself goodness me I would never order that!!
but I do appreciate we are a family of 4, and very hearty eaters, so Hopefully there will be enough food when it arrives.

Anyway, looking forward to its arrival.

Thank you MN.

Thank you I've just ordered.

The process was very simple and i think its good that you are given some time to change your mind about which recipes are in the box.

I've ordered the two available Annabel recipes that were available- fish and meatballs. It is a shame that there isn't a vegiterian option, as I can see a lot of people are going to struggle with this review - my sister certainly wouldn't be able to take part on that basis.

I've also ordrered lamb byriani and seared steak with tabbouleh salad

It is expensive for only 4 meals but it will be convenient having them delivered with premeasured ingrediants.

I await the arrival of my box on Saturday with interest :)

Thank you for choosing me- I almost never win anything - last thing I won was a bottle of radox on the bottle tombola at the school fate - yup I didn't even manage a bottle of wine

Looks like I'm going to miss out :( Just had a text telling me I was selected and to order by the end of today but that's the first I've heard - no emails, I've searched my spam folder twice to be sure. Waaaaahhhhh Sad

Thanks Justine for fixing it for me!

Next question... we're vegetarian but all the Annabel Karmel meals are meat or fish based? How do we try one out as the testers want us to?! I'm sure I mentioned being veggie when I filled out the tester survey Confused

I’ve ordered and all gone through but it’s showing as me receiving another free order the following week?

I presume this will be cancelled, looking forward to trying the recipes.

I ordered this morning and realise that I’ve asked for delivery on the 13th, as it was offered, not 14-17th, so hope that doesn’t cause any issues. Please let me know if that’s problematic. I put one AK in the order and the transaction with the mn special offer code all worked fine.

Ok I've ordered!

Feedback so far...

Website is great and simple to use.

Recipes look delicious but I think it would be great if there could be a vegetarian AK choice every week :)

We've chosen Honey Kissed Couscous, Aubergine Parmigiana, Palak Paneer, and Thai Green Curry. They all look absolutely lush and my 14 year old DD practically drooled on my screen as she helped me choose! DS (7) said "oh no not aubergines you always buy them " but has agreed to try at least one bite of everything.

Do they mean they are keeping the account open and we can order again if we wish or that the subscription will start up again?

Id assumed the former but now wondering
