In September, the team at Pampers will be launching brand New Baby-Dry Pants! They’re looking for 500 MNers & their LOs to be some of the first in the country to try them & provide feedback on Mumsnet and //Pampers.co.uk.

Here is what they’ve got to say: ‘Helping a baby to learn and grow without interruption is important for their happy, healthy development. Parents know there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing their baby happily and uninterruptedly playing – it’s what they do best! Whether asleep or awake, a baby is always learning and growing, but, when they are distracted by the irritation of wetness or the disruption of a nappy change, this interrupts their experience. Nowadays pants are not just for toilet training - in fact more and more parents are telling us they prefer the pants format for everyday use because they are easy to pull on and to quickly change when their baby is happily wriggling and moving about. Our new Pampers Baby-Dry Pants are perfect for playtime, nighttime, anytime! Pampers Baby-Dry Pants have Micro Pearls™ which absorb up to 30 times their weight and lock wetness away for up to 12 hours of dryness. They also feature an All-Around Stretch waistband that adapts to all of your baby’s movements and they’re soft and breathable so your baby will stay dry and happy.’

This is open to all UK MNers who have a child who currently wears one of the below sizes:
Size 4: 7 - 18 kg / 15 - 40 lbs
Size 5: 11 - 25 kg / 24 - 55 lbs
Size 6: 15+ kg/33+ lbs

Selected testers will receive a free carry pack of New Pampers Baby-Dry Pants in their chosen size.

Testers will need to be available to test their pack of Baby-Dry Pants starting in September, so please only apply if you're available at that time.

Everyone who takes part and shares their feedback on to a thread on Mumsnet and fills in a short survey will be entered into a prize draw where one Mumsnetter will win a £200 John Lewis voucher. We’ll also be sending you a link to //Pampers.co.uk, where you can tell Pampers what you thought about the product.

Please sign up here if you'd like to take part.

Thanks,
MNHQ

We've been using these for a couple of days too. I really like the stretchy waistband, it seems much more comfortable than the waistband on a tabbed nappy. I'm in agreement with previous posters that it is a faff to completely undress a toddler to change a wet nappy, DD was wearing tights today and it totally negated the benefit of a stand up nappy change.

They seem comparable to the Pampers Baby Dry we usually use in terms of containing wetness (although I haven't tried them at night yet), but we did have a leaky dirty nappy this evening which was very disappointing. Hopefully this was a one-off, but we've not had a poosplosion in Baby Dry for well over 6 months.

The design on the front is slighly obscured by a semi-opaque layer, which means you can only see half the lion/giraffe properly - not a massive issue I know, but maybe something to consider. The tab is a nice touch, but if you are bagging the nappy anyway it is a bit pointless.

All in all, the jury is out still here.

Hi Mumsnet, received my pack a few days ago and have used the nappies.

At first look the pack seemed very plain, not a lot of wording (maybe thats what they were going for). The handle is a great thing especially if im holding my little ones hand in my other.

Upon opening the pack i noticed how very soft and velvety the nappies were. And very stretchy too. They seemed great at this point and may have even converted me over from my normal pack from Morrisons. My son pulled them all out the packed and loved looking at all the animals on the front, his favourite was the "jaff" (giraffe) and wanted to wear it first.

So first try was ok, i found it very annoying that i had to undress the bottom half of my child to get them on. i normally use tabbed nappies and didnt realise how much easier they were to put on compared to pull up's.
I found that the pull ups didnt fit well around my sons bottom and seemed to need a bit more fabric, also they were so loose around his waist that for the next 2-3 hours i found myself pulling them back up every now and then.
Daddy then changed him because of a poopy nappy and found he had started to leak out of the sides. This seemed to be because there wasnt enough coverage around his bum.

Overnight was fine and didnt have any problems in the morning it lasted from 8pm till 7am.

Next day he had tighter trousers on which seemed to solve the problem of them slipping down but still not enough around his bum. i had just found the tab on the back of the nappies bit confused what it was for until reading the pack again. I struggled to wrap the tab around the nappy to keep it sealed as it didnt seem long enough. a good idea would be that the tab could come fully off so i could seal the nappy how i wanted.

I have found the pull ups do very well with holding a lot of liquid but not so good with runny poops maybe this could be looked into.

Our nappy time didnt go too well yesterday as when i was pulling it up with a struggling 2 year old shouting at me that ive put the nappy with the lion on instead of his favourite "jaff" (giraffe) having no more in the pack, the side ripped apart quiet easily. i think that if i left my son alone with no trousers on he could rip them off by himself which would leave a terrible mess if it was full.

So my overall rating of these Pampers Baby dry pants would be a 7/10.

i dont think i will be changing over just yet from my normal tabbed nappies but when it comes to potty changing this is defiantly a brand and style i would consider.

Thank you for picking me to review these pull ups hope this is insightful Smile

Thank you so much for choosing my 1.5 year old son to trial your nappies.

After testing out other branded nappies in the hope of saving a few £s, we have always gone back to Pampers due to their quality, softness and superb fit.

I received these yesterday, so have only used these for two days.
At first, I noticed the opaque strip across the motif which I thought was a little odd. Perhaps the motif could be a little more prominent or colourful? Although I know they coincide with the motifs on your other nappies.

Next, I realised how soft they are - perfectly so! My son is in size 6s and they fit wonderfully around his tummy and aren't too tight around his legs.

I love the fact you can easily rip the sides to take the nappy off, to avoid the toddler standing in the dirty nappy. It made things a lot quicker and easier.

My son is an absolute fidget at changing time and especially after his bath. I can only change his nappy with him stood up, as he won't lie down, and these were so quick and easy to pop on!

No real complaints yet... No leaks either, hurrah! Will be back with a follow-up review once we've tried some more over the next few days :o)

Hi, thank you for choosing us to be part of the trial.

My daughter has been using the size 4 pants for a few days now and we are ready to give feedback.
I agree with a pp that it is handy that the packaging has a handle to carry them around the shop. I felt the packaging was a bit boring though, it looked like the supermarket own brand.
I liked how soft and stretchy the pants were, my daughter seemed very comfortable in them.
I didn't like the strong plastic smell, i haven't noticed it with other pampers.
The picture of the animal on the front seemed to be wasted as most of it was hidden under the plastic, my daughter has been trying to pick it off!
The absorbancy was good, and it was helpful that you could easily tear them off at the sides.

I don't know if I would purchase them over other brands as they seem to be more like nappies than pants to help with transitioning to toilet training. Making them more attractive to children so they are more willing to keep them dry may help?

I'm not sure where to leave feedback so i will just leave it here.

We normally use Pampers easy up pants so i thought these would be pretty similar. They are but i find them so much better for a few reasons.

I prefer the stretchy meshy part on these as they are much easier to actually pull up and down without them ripping or falling apart. So therefore much easier for my DC to do themselves without calling for me to help. However i do agree with PP that there is not much point having a picture if it is mostly covered up by the stretchy panel.
They are very absorbent and last all night long on my 3 year old DC.
Love the sticky tab for rolling up and throwing away. Cuts down on having to use a nappy sack.

So while i do already use pampers products i will be switching to these as i prefer them and feel there is less wastage as they don't rip as easily as the others.

Love love love the waistband on these - it's almost fabric soft and incomparable to anything else we have used.

They seem good on being very dry whenever I have changed her, however, as with all pampers I find they're too narrow over the bum and this makes me concerned about leaks

Would be great to have opening/re fastening sides - I've been reaching for a nappy whenever she is wearing tights as I often can't be bothered with the faff of fully removing rights to put one of these on.

Will use again but because of needing to fully undress her to put them on I will probably only use alongside a stock of nappies

I hadn't noticed there were pictures on them Blush

We have been using these over a few days, and are very impressed so far. I am still not great at stand-up nappy changes, and found these very easy to put on. Taking off was harder, as ripping the second side, supporting the dirty nappy and keeping child still seems to require more hands than I have. Any tips?

At night time they are fantastic. They have so far lasted through the night without problems, whereas normally we have to change babydry nappy at around 5am to be sure of not leaking.

The waistband is lovely and soft, and as DS is skinny, the width is perfect for him. I agree with PP that I notice the smell more than usual.

I am guessing these are going to be more than 20p per nappy, so not sure if we would switch to them all the time, but will definitely be using them at night, and will recommend them.

Wasn't sure where to leave feedback so shall leave it here for now! Will move it if another thread becomes available :)

We got the nappies last week and started using them on Saturday, as they claim to last 12 hours we thought we would leave them on for that amount unless he did a poo, we got to around 8hrs and it was getting quite full, it leaked around at 10hrs. So not quite the full 12 hrs.

Over night we haven't had any leaks, although it felt fuller than his normal nappies in the morning.

I assume as he doesn't drink anything during the night is why it lasted better.

I think it's a bit rubbish that you can't see the picture clearly although the picture on the packaging suggests you can.

I did find it easy in the morning to dress him, but again a bit of a faff taking everything off to put another one on!

They are super soft though which is nice.
