Norman's office has been turned into a polling station. Brian and Len are checking off the voters against the electoral roll. Ken is conducting the exit poll. The candidates are:-

Norman the Foreman (Tea drinking party)
Bossy Ross the lifeboat coxswain (Lifesaving party)
Michael the beach policeman (Law and order party)
Jack Jellyhead the robber (Legalise robbery party)
Father Christmas (Christmas all year round party)

Early results from the exit poll suggest that the tea drinking party and lifesaving party are doing rather well.....

or hiding from Jack Jellyhead wanting to "protest" about voting irregularities.

He's probably too busy living it up with the tea drinkers (in an impartial sense of course)

well Adrian the returning officer should have posted a link, really...

Get with the programme you guys.

There's a result thread in active convos.

Why the delay? Did we staunch party members of the JELLYHEAD party for FISCAL PRUDENCE THROUGH NICKING STUFF succeed in pinching the ballots after all?

I am invisaging Norman and Ross both trying to cut deals with Father Christmas, having understimated the power of the Christmas-related Playmobil block vote.

Ah I see! Good juxtaposition of signs though! I must go to bed now, so that the results can be published in the morning!

DD posted it to my Facebook wall - she's in Exeter, but I suspect she got it off the internet, she was probably too hungover busy revising to go and vote....

Am hoping the result will be declared between about 7.45 and 8.30 in the morning (after ds has got up!). Then I have to go and help in ds's school until about 11.30am, so will report back again then.

I think we have numerous Playmo people to man the election office, but thanks for your offer of reinforcements!

Do you have an estimate for what time Norman will wake up and make his acceptance speech Adrian will be ready to announce the result?

The only 2 RL constituencies I care about (ours and the one where the father of one of DS's friends is a candidate) have estimates of 3am and 4am. Having worked (no, really) until 12:30am last night, I am going to bed now..... good luck with the count (do you have enough Playmobil civil servants - you could draft in some air traffic controllers from us if needed?)

PMSL rustybear - where did you find that? Was it in Wokingham?

I think he'll be ok! He's not actually involved in the lifeboat/lifeguarding service.

Are you sure Adrian isn't too much of an ally of Bossy Ross to be strictly impartial?

And I was a bit that I had to go to a rehearsal tonight (although enjoyed rehearsal) and couldn't update the thread between about 7 and 10pm. Never mind, ds and I had a great time putting the Playmo scene together, and ds was really excited that MN people were voting for his Playmo people!

Adrian the cargo boat captain (he seems like the steady sort of chap who would be a returning officer....)

Pesky RL - I was at a thrilling all-day meeting (and then making a sugarpaste bear)

Who is acting as returning officer?

I wondered where you had got to stealth! I expected to see you on this thread...

Sorry you left it rather late to vote, as polling closed at 10pm, but I will pass your kind wishes on to Norman .

I'm a bit worried that if Norman were elected he would turn it into a dictatorship. Come to that, Bossy Ross wouldn't be a much better bet. And Father Christmas is a loon - Christmas all year round won't work. Jack is an anarchist and Michael is not a proper policeman - all he does is ponce around on the beach. [sigh] - it's real life all over again.

Out of sheer loyalty, I am going to have to go with Norman.

I never break the speed limit! The babysitter had to be paid and sent on her merry way by which time it was just after ten. No voting power in the Petal household! I will look forward to the results in the morning .

Sorry you are too late to vote Mollie - I'll send your best wishes to Bossy Ross!

Petal, seeing as ds is asleep in bed, I think the results will have to be declared in the morning. So don't stay up all night!

I hope you didn't break the speed limit on your way home in the hope of getting back in time to vote

Just found this thread and am gutted I didn't vote in time. Bossy Ross you are still my hero even if you won't be elected leader. But don't worry you will be leader in 4 years time. Norman will be a one time only leader what with all the economic reforms he'll be trying to delegate and failing.
