Great big effing boil on my neck! Help!

BagofHolly · 13/08/2011 12:48

I've NEVER had a boil, ever, and now, 4 days after I go from long hair to a short bob, I've got something that looks like another nipple. It HURTS! I've put metanium on it and it's coming up to a point but there's no head on it. I don't feel too well either but that might be unrelated.

What should I do?! Help!

Oh that's good news, thanks for the update on you and your friend. Sounds like he's retreated back into the dark depths or Mordor (or wherever he came from) We'll miss him Wink

An update from Cyst Fabregas et al.
As Sidge predicted, many pages ago, if it dries out too quickly you can be left with a scabby dint. That's exactly what I have now. Every couple of days it throws out a bit of snot and it's still very red but no longer leaking anything. I'm back on ABs, this time for a UTI. When I saw the doc he had another look and said it looked alright, and said the culture had come back as being Staph Aureus, so happily not strep or anthrax.

Hopefully I will NEVER have anything so gross again! I had my hair done again yesterday (different place, obviously) and she politely didn't comment on my neck orafice. Thanks for sharing my pus-y journey!

Holly, you can get a much stronger Canesten cream on prescription as well, much better than the ordinary 2% for relieving the dreadful itch.

Delurking now that the saga is nearly at an end to say thank you, Holly, for an epic journey with your second head. I laughed, I cried, I gaped in amazement.

Try putting the yoghurt on a flannel and sitting on it in the buff. V soothing.

Oooh yeah freeze it first! Forgot that bit! I had almost 4 weeks of Abs after DS was born. Infected CS scar then mastitis. I ate 3 large tubs in 3 days and a 4th was reserved for "application" :o

I would take it in conjunction with a high dose Vit C and Zinc supplement as well (one you dissolve into water, not a tablet kind)

Also grapefruit seed extract is highly anti-bacterial, so some of that might be good too...

Re probiotics, Yakult is good but you have to tke it for a month, solid. No point in a week. The (good) bacteria needs to grow back and it will take a while

Get natural yog tmrw from the supermarket, whack it in the freezer for half an hour then apply...instant bliss

Natuarl yoghurt on yer bits will help balance you all out again and soothe the itch If its still not clearing then a day or two cutting out sugar and wheat will def do the trick!

Poor ole CystFabregas almost back to whence he came. I'll miss the old sod, but will remember our good times fondly!

Oh and Holly, Did you ever know that you're my hero...........

Probiotics like yackult, or more hardcore? Have slapped on canesten but it's worthless, plus 150mg fluconazole yesterday and today. It's frothing and stroppy.

I have followed this thread and not posted so far, but wanted to give you kudos and thank you for sharing the life and death of your parasite boil.

Get thee some natural yoghurt for the after effects of the AB's, and once the AB's have finished, some mega strength probiotics. Your gut flora will quite frankly be fucked after that assault and the last thing you need will be IBS type symptoms lingering and paying respects to your dearly departed second head.

Progress! My hole is smaller and less ratty looking! Its itchy, amd as i walked past Steamer Trading Company today, it felt like it was vibrating but that may be a coincidence. Am off ABs but on fluconazole as all my happy flora are dead and candida is rioting down below. I don't have any photos of that, but today's look is here!
