Just painted chimney breast/new fire/tv but looks a bit bare!

Need some inspiration please as to what else to do?

I would put two shelves above it, possibly three.

There's some on Etsy but they are a bit pricey!!
Places like the range often have a selection of 'natural' looking accessories. I've seen wicker hearts and wreaths there before. You could always spray them with paint to get exactly what you want in white?

Or be very creative and make one? Then you could sell them on Etsy for £110 !!!!

Love that average bear but not sure my DH would go for that in the lounge, he has indulged my more girly side in our bedroom so hearts in the lounge too may e a step too far!

I think perhaps an off-white rustic wreath sort of thing would look good if anyone can find me one please!

Something like this? I love my little hearts collection and I buy new ones occasionally. Ours needs something because the ceiling is deceptively high, but if the mirror was any higher I couldn't see in it!

I would get the white picture ledges from Ikea and put one underneath the tv (might have to move it up a few inches and one above with pictures on it in black frames. Or if you have the money look at those installations where you have a picture canvas on top of the tv that slides out of the way with a remote control.

Nospring - is there a reason you're so rude?

When our tv's were on stands we didn't shove a fire under them though. Thats why they looked ok so low down!

I actually agree that the TV is the correct height for viewing - unlike those that are far too high for comfort. I agree a white shelf would balance things and tie in with the white fire. Maybe a bit deeper than a picture shelf though to allow more flexibilty for the display. I would personally choose white or ivory items. Good luck.

How did we all cope when TVs came attached to a floor standing frame (which sat about a foot off the floor) ?!!

Of course! I often wear a satin evening gown whilst painting! 😂😉

Thanks oleole for lights, Very pretty. I'm looking for a big clock for kitchen so don't want another in lounge now I think about it so shelving/ledge is the way to'go I think!

NovaArt this is the paint - we had to buy on Amazon this time, doesn't seem to be in shops anymore - I have a wall in the kitchen/family area same colour but we painted it about 5 years ago!

Something similar to this would look nice. A couple of white staggered floating shelves with some interesting decorative bits & bobs on?

I would get a clock where you stick the number to the wall and it isn't a definite hanging piece (does that even make sense?!). I'll try and find something like I mean! That way it won't detract too much from the tv!

We have a low level tv with a great clock above it.

Clear fairly lights and multi coloured balls, they come in various lengths and colours, mine were £20.

Thanks for all the suggestions and critiques! 😉 I'm intrigued how those of you with TVs high up don't get cricked necks?!!

A shelf/ledge above is what I'm going to go for I think, although I am partial to a wicker heart!

And those who asked - the fire is not real and the TVs is centrally positioned!

I would have something like a floating shelf on one side
so it's not symmetrical with maybe candles or a couple
of photograph frames on it.
