Glad to see you feeling a bit better; i would be scared by the op too but will make a big difference. My sister suffered for years with fibroids and ended up needing a blood transfusion before they finally did a hysterectomy. fibroids filled the whole of her uterus!

Pleased to hear you're ok and everything is under control. I hope your Dh and Ds have recovered as well.

Good luck with the surgery.

Good news theking!

A friend went through this last year, the hysterectomy was scary but she is so much better after, she was able to go back to work as before she had to run off because of the bleedings. Thankfully she has a very understanding boss.

Thought I would update for all those who kept me company. I'm finally feeling much better than I did though still tired after being too busy . I have had had anothe blood test and HB levels going in right direction it was 10.7 on Tuesday so a significant improvement from 8 and hopefully the iron they gave me will continue to do its work.

In other news having has 2 consultants spots am now booked I for a hysterectomy on 27th nov so can finally but issues to bed . I am very scared about this but seems to be the least worst solution. I have found my way on to the hysterectomy thread so am getting lots of good support there

Again Thankyou for all the help and support Smile

That's great re your mum. Hospital admin in France is painfully slow, chucking an international fax number into the equation will have confused them :o at least you will be able to go, explain what happened, show them your discharge papers and get yourself checked if need be.

Well done I think you've been pretty brave tackling a journey like that. I'd have asked the insurqnce to cough up for some resting up time in a plush hotel :)

Oh take care! There used to be a good restaurant at Gare du Nord while you wait. You can sleep in the TGV later, hopefully.

The basics will be on your discharge papers. Good luck with the trip home, take it very easy, and hope the French hospital system hasn't been too traumatic.

You are welcome. If they write out, in medical French, your symptoms, surgery and other treatment, give you a copy of your bloods from this morning and any other they took, and your discharge prescription the UK doctors will be able to work it out - medical French and medication names are pretty similar.

I have shown French blood reports to UK doctors over thg years and they have always been able to understand it.

I have all my discharge papers so can go when I want - the first train we could get us at 4 so didn't want to be hanging about station too long. Dh coming in an hour to help me get dressed packed up. But gynae yesterday said that they would wait to receive a fax from my dr asking the questions .....

V frustrating

Mon médécin traitant au Royaume Uni me demande de lui fournir une lettre de votre part pour lui expliquer les soins que j'ai reçu lors de mon admission chez vous, afin de pouvoir procéder aux démarches nécessaires pour la suite.

Not perfect but they will understand. Normally when you were admitted you will have given them the name and address of your GP in the UK - did they ask this of you or your DH? They are supposed to write to them anyway but if they didn't this will jog them along. You might need to start harassing them now if you want to be out by 4 though.
