....to water my garden with.

I want a very large water butt.

It has to be rectangluar and not cost a fortune.

Is there anything I can use (like a cold water tank - from the attic) Couls it be easily adapted?

Any suggestions??

They don't overflow if you put the pipe from the drainpipe into the butt at the right level. Does that make sense??!!

Oh, crumbs, I didn't notice the price of that one!! It is a bit expensive, isn't it?

Try googling, Katie, I found a few such as these these and these . Be careful about prices - they seem to vary wildly for the same item!

The gap it is going to sit in is 800x1400 and up to 2m high - I just assumed that rectangular would fit the space best.

It to collect from a roof that is 50spqm - so it needs to be quite big.

And it must be safe (I childmind)

You would have to make a homemade one safe, though - cats, hedgehogs - not to mention kids!

I've seen a rectangular one somewhere. Can't think where! It would only be small though - spacesaver.

A lid would be important!
