What is the best mood stabiliser for BPD?

Psychiatrist won't prescribe for borderline personality disorder but also won't let me access therapy until I am more stable. Not got any better in several months so am going to get a mood stabiliser online as cannot cope like this; not sure which is best - heard about lithium, lamortigine, olanzapine, valproate and quetiapine.
Would welcome comments on what has worked for others, side effects etc

That's a really bad idea for all the reasons dontrun says.

It is also illegal to buy prescription-only drugs without a prescription in the UK.

Ok this law does not apply to foreign hosted websites when buying for personal use but buying without prescription you could get; counterfeit medicines or worse, meds cut with toxic / poisonous compounds, may not receive anything, or could end up with HMRC / police on your doorstep if they think your purchases are for dealing.

Don't do it, and don't self diagnose your treatment.

Go see your Pdoc again to discuss your concerns, or go back to your GP to see if you can see another specialist. Alternatively, pay for a private consultation to get a second opinion.

As in buying without a prescription? Boy, that is dangerous. Whatever you do, don't touch lithium, valproate or lamotrigine. The first two (esp lithium) need regular blood tests. Lamotrigine can cause a fatal allergic reaction--it needs to be monitored by a Pdoc and titrated very slowly. It's rare, but if it happens, it can kill you.

I can appreciate your frustration, but dabbling around with very potent medications is (to be frank) a terrible and dangerous idea.

Moreover, what makes you think a mood stabiliser will help? Do you believe you actually have bipolar disorder?
