Its COLGATE SMILES 0-2yrs in a YELLOW box.

I gather it's approx a £1 a tube...and if so i'd buy as many as i could!!! I'd pay your ebay fees/postage costs and a bit extra for helping me......

I use paypal....so easy transaction!

thanks for such a fab reply...thank your dh for me!

Have 'researched' the differences between the ingredient list for the 0-2 and the 2-6..... and as far as ingredients go... the 2-6 just has 1 additional ingredient....CI 77891 which i assume is either colour or flavour....that's assuming all the ingredientts are in the same quantities!!!!

so....this 'could' be a case of my son 'thinking' the 0-2 is different in taste...but it is just the yellow packaging or the colour of the paste itself!!!!

however....if 2-6 is even slightly different tasting....then he will detect that.

if the taste is the same...i could probaby eventually switch him! The packaging isn't so important...he does tolerate manufacturers changing packaging!!!

Is there anyone i could contact at colgate to save you and your DH being the 'piggies in the middle'.... i appreciate all you've done...but appreciate you also have a life!!!!!!

I'm so glad you joined mumsnet...i've been here for 6 years!

Sorry just got a message from dh to say there are none of these pastes left in the staff shop
He did ask what is so special about this particular one and is happy to send you samples of the other pastes they do accordingly. Bless he has even been in contact with the 'scientific affairs manager' to see if there are any special needs for an autistic child to have specific toothpaste needs. The answer of course was no BUT that its probably more important to ensure they have the correct fluoride etc as a trip to the dentist may be traumatic for an autistic child.

Dh says if the reason your ds likes the 0-2 Smiles is because of taste, the 2-6 years Smiles tastes very similar. If its because others are too minty you could try the Toms of Maine Strawberry toothpaste. If its for the packaging unfortunately he can't really help more.

He says if you let him know your/ds's requirements he would love to try to help.....

If any of this helps I will email you his work email.......

Sorry to not help more

thanks ...i hope you suceed!!!

i contacted a charity called FLEDGLINGSwho i have used in the past to find things i need for the boys...and had a very interesting conversation with the manager.

basically she has had enquiries for toothpaste before for autistic children...and was very interested in following this up- not just for me...but for them to stock.

they have in the past got a manufacturer to re-instate a brand- in a large enough quantity for the manufacturere to be bothered...but small enough quantity to be sold by the charity...

wouldn't it be amazing if that happened!!!!

so...hoping that the person who's husband works for colgate can get some from the staff shop...as they may have enough to sell to this charity too....

Don't forget i will confirm on monday which flavours of 'punch and judy' i can get...

I have seen that punch & judy one I know I have. I'm sure it is home bargains/qaulity save....unless it is just the strawberry one the do? I will look.

I have to pin down my DS for teeth cleaning, it is awful. I hate it with a passion. have tried all sorts. He is 22 months so hoepfully he will grow out of it!

How about this one Landyschemist
Min order is £5 so you'd have to buy 3+ tubes. Couldn't find a p&p price, but sure if you scoured the site or phoned you could find out.

this is how very sad my life is.

we baught some novelty toothpaste when on holiday. DS used it. when it ran out he refused all other toothpastes.

i now buy a different toothpaste by the same company and use a syringe to take it out of its tube and squirt it into this old novelty one.

how sad is my life?!?!?!?!

I will certainly have a look in our local £ shop for you as i feel your pain all too well

baker...if its no trouble for you to get it...and they are cheap....then at least 12 would be a great starter!I just feel you may feel daft buying so many! (if they were 'really' cheap....and were in a box of 24...i'd have that instead!!!!!)

Have spoken to dh at Colgate HQ , he thinks the staff shop may have it but they're not open until next Tues so he will check then.

However he put on his 'Oral care expert' head and asked how old your ds is as he said this one is very low in fluoride so not much good for kids over 2. He could also get you some Toms of Maine strawberry toothpaste if its the minty taste he doesnt like of other toothpastes?
