... and who's always been borderline skinny/slender, is now packing on the pounds. I'm astounded and dismayed. She eats and eats, hungrily, but doesn't get much exercise. Her weight seems to be skyrocketing but I don't feel I can say much. First of all, I don't want to hurt her feelings and secondly, it's actually none of my business.
DD, whom I will call Julia, was diagnosed with epilepsy as a toddler, and has been having full tonic/clonic seizures since puberty. She's on lots of meds, but nothing new or increased for several years. However, Julia was having terribly painful cramps and tons of bleeding so she was recently referred to an ob/gyn who suggested the Mirena coil. This was earlier this year.
So I'm wondering what might be causing my19-year-old DD (Julia) to have such an increase in appetite and, unfortunately, weight gain. Some women are fine with being a plus size but I know for a fact that Julia is miserable and uncomfortable.
Any thoughts or ideas, MN?
