Welcome more new folk. All welcome. Lots of chat and tips to be had here.

No, I think everyone has The Shock with their first DC Cath. The 2nd SO benefits from the practice run, believe me. Smile

It would be at least a year here Wrecked!

Sorry MissA, but I am laughing at your DH's need to save ice cream boxes!

Em I'm glad neither of us thought the other was a twat then. Grin

Did no one else notice that Girlie said she MIGHT go on a date again? Grin

Done my last few bit of shopping for NYE, plus a few bits of seriously reduced items in M&S, think 10p for a back of carrots, 30p for a huge salad etc.

I'll post a picture of the pies in a bit. Amazing for about £1 a pie.

Another thing I've decided for 2017.

  • continue to take food up to drop off point for food bank weekly.
  • Keep £1 and 50p pieces when handed change, but chuck the rest into the charity box, as my gestures to charity, spread out a bit more evenly.

girlie go for it (and then tell us all your stories - sharing is caring and all that).

need phew. This is going to be my 2017 motto

£25 riding. Jumped the non jumper pony today. She jumps b. I. G. My instructor thought I was ready. We jumped about 50cms. It felt like a million. She jumps up not across if you know what I mean.

£10.49 in Waitrose on bacon, juice , small bottles of water and shloer (i don't want a hangover tomorrow so three glasses of prosecco and then acheeky switch to the non alcoholic stuff - may as well start exploring on alcoholic options in case...!)

Guest room (no longer the spare room as we now have guests) is ready. Catface has been ejected from the bed. She's sulking. And fluffy fresh from the dryer towels have been lovingly placed on bed along with bottles of water (hydration is key to avoid hangover).

Just have to hoover and clean guest bathroom and I think we're there.

Grin haha well I am rather slow in the dating dept so I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet Wink but now house is sorted am starting to consider it at least! If you know of any eligible, solvent and above all else rich men in the South West send them my way Grin

Had a productive afternoon, took a onesie back that broke the first time dd wore it so thats £10 back in, picked up some of the clothes I ordered in Next (still waiting for the rest of them) sent back some clothes my mum had bought me for Christmas (they were too big) and swapped a hoody that I bought for dd for the next size up. Only spend was £1 on some flapjack for dd.

A friend has invited me to a house party tonight, might go along for a bit but will have dd with me so doubt will make it to midnight!

Go Girlie!

Cag I love how specific your resolutions are - they will probably be much easier to stick to.

Having said that, mine is just to Be Healthy, (increase my exercise and reduce alcohol). Have done two walks this week and will be attempting Dry Jan as a kick start.

No plans for tonight. £6 in Waitrose on some groceries. I need to get back on track with the meal planning as this has gone out the window over the last week, but am using the last of the ham in a pie for dinner.

New washer here and on its second load.

Looking at tickets for a make and bake thing at Ripley castle in June. £65 if we want to see Paul Hollywood but saw him at Harrogate last year. Don't fancy seeing Candice. Might just get a festival ticket and take the kids for £30.

We are on day 4 of prepping the hall for painting & divorce has only been mentioned once.

Tomorrow I shall paint.

We use 123 movies for films. If anyone watches Kim basinger in blind date you'll know why I don't drink much when I'm out.

pixie I'm retraining too, it's scary but exciting. I'm going to be a CND shellac tech, I've got two more courses I want to do.

Just do shots & smoke Marlboro lights, possibly a line of class a drugs. You'll be pg in no time. Even if you don't dtd.
You have cat face to keep you company on long night feeds and to get you used to early starts.

Welcome newbies. Everyone's welcome here.

Fluffy Couldn't agree more. A friend was telling me recently how hard IVF is. I couldn't help thinking of the armies of friends I have who got accidentally pregnant through having a contraceptive coil and a bottle of wine at the same time. I know it's not at all as simple as that, but it does seem ironic.

fluffy you speak true, my SIL got pg in the middle of a wine tasting course in NYC where she had also taken up social smoking.
My DSis got pg on the pill, while in Ibiza aged 23, I dread to think what she was up to.... happy to report both nephews are bright as buttons and seemingly unscathed aged 7 and 4 haha!

By the time I realised I was pregnant with DD I'd been on 2 drunken hen weekends, she seems to be ok!

Good luck with the dating, girlie, hope we get to hear some stories!

I'm not making any resolutions as I suspect the arrival of 2 babies in a couple of months will put a stop to any good intentions! However, we are going to spend the next few weeks getting as prepared as possible including things like sorting DD's birthday which is not long after the babies arrive.

DH and I thought it would be a good idea to make tapas tonight so I'm about to start cooking 4 different dishes. DH has already made pudding and will help when he's put DD to bed but I'm starting to wish we'd just had pizza.

Have a good new year all and here's to a happy, healthy and frugal 2017 for us all! Wine

So to increase my chances of getting pg I have to move to Ibiza, to do a wine tasting course take up smoking again be permanently sozzled and book a non refundable super exciting not suitable for preggos thing. So maybe a bungee. From the moon.

I'll work on that.

Happy New Years lovelies. May 2017 bring us all we wish for. And also health happiness etc. and a smokin hot rich fella for girlie

Hi, can I join?

I had major expenses in 2016 (repairing roof and chimney and garden fence etc) which got rid of all my safety net and I know that the house will continue to be a drain on my finances so I need to really tighten my belt.

Am off to do a fresh start with YNAB because I fell off the budgeting wagon in a big way.

Welcome all newbiesBrew.
DS and I went to the Metrocentre, as he wanted to part with some of his Christmas cash. Spends: £7.80 bus fare, £2.65 Wilkos, 99p Pret (and I got a free cookie), £14.80 Burrito Bar. Total: £26.24. Card spends: £22 Primark (2 pairs of high waist skinniest, sports bra and slouchy tee to go with new pajama bottoms), £5.34 in Tesco (mini bottle of Prosecco, as I only want a drink to see in the new year, bottle of alcoholic ginger beer for DS and Kettles crisps) and £14 takeaway pizza. I thought we might as well have a treat, seeing as our plans were cancelled. Grand total: £67.58.

My goals are:
Dry January, which I usually do for 6 weeks and break on my birthday on the 11th February (although some years I've gone well into March!).
No spend on clothes and shoes for as long as possible and then only replacing essential items.
No spend on books.
Get fitter, by doing my DVD and walking 2 or 3 miles 3 times a week, as well as continuing with Pilates and lose a stone and a half by the end of the year.
This will be the hardest for me: bed by 10.45 p.m. Sunday to Thursday.

Happy New Year, all Frugaleers.Wine
