My fiance and I ordered gifts at a similar time for each others birthday as they are close together. The gifts arrived very quickly in fact there hasn't been much difference in delivery times here.

OP have a look on Etsy and Not On The High Street. They do lots of personalised things - make up bags, pencil cases, etc etc. My soon to be 15yr old is getting presents from there - earrings, journal, little lights that are photo holders/pegs, a cushion. There's lots of craft stuff for your younger one (got a wooden rainbow to paint this week), colouring books etc. Actually did about 6 orders at the beginning of next week and 3 have arrived already.

13 year old something gaming or phone related. Makeup and hair stuff for experimenting and selfie taking. An IOU a clothes shopping trip. My 14 year old son had pants and pyjamas and was allowed to move his PlayStation into his bedroom, a dream come true!

As well as the outlets in Sainsburys, Argos also deliver for a small to most areas for a small fee, if you prefer not to go out.

DS has Lego for his in June. I bought it on offer in early March.
We have used Smyths and the Entertainer since this started, just before the schools finished to grab things to keep him happy, Easter presents etc.
I will be doing all my Christmas shopping as soon as lockdown is lifted so I’m ready for the winter ones.

@user471590586er 13 year old girl. Should I give her money or just tell her she can have a certain amount to spend either online in in shops when we can. I dont want her to be disappointed when she doesn't get anything on her birthday

Is that a 13 year old boy or girl? My just turned 12 year old no longer likes toys. She had a make up palette by Morphe, perfume, jewellery and money so she can get clothes. Is the 13 year old into online games or has games console? Or do they need a new bike so they can do their daily exercise on it?

Christmas won’t be cancelled

If it’s still bad then there won’t be any economy going at all.

My daughter’s birthday is December. I’m wondering if I should get a few things now. Also for Christmas. I think Christmas will be cancelled this year basically. I’m wondering if just to totally ignore it and not even celebrate it. My son doesn’t believe in santa but my daughter will think she’s been bad and that’s why she hasn’t got any presents. I know it’s first world problems but I can’t bear the thought of that.

I hope John Lewis keep the bricks and mortar, I loved a rare weekend mooch there

NemophilistRebel

I think this situation is going to see a lot of bricks and mortar companies ditch the bricks and mortar tbh.

Shops like Smyth's, The Entertainer etc. The shops have high overheads and more workers. They'll realise online sales are more profitable.

Oooook

So back to topic - I’ve managed to source wrapping paper, cards and presents
There are 5 child’s birthdays coming up in the next month.
All have been sourced from EBay, H&M, John Lewis, entertainer etc

So many shops still have an online presence to keep them ticking along in the background

thebearwentoverthebumble · 06/04/2020 12:51

The entertainer/early Learning Centre., argos, amazon ect they are all still delivering. I have just ordered my baby son a gift for his first birthday in May 😊
